Grain size, which encompasses length, width, and thickness, is a critical agricultural trait that influences both grain yield and quality in rice. Although numerous grain size regulators have been identified, the molecular mechanisms governing grain size and the lignin content remain largely elusive. In this study, we cloned and characterized GRAIN LENGTH AND GRAIN WIDTH 10 (GLGW10), a novel regulator of grain size in rice.

Methods: The study included a baseline survey in 2021 (T1) and a follow-up survey in 2022 (T2), with a total of 3,206 participants, including 1,510 males (Age ± SE: 13.62 ± 1.
Background: This study aims to explore the effects of physical activity on adolescents' social skills and antisocial behavior, as well as gender and only child status differences among Chinese adolescents.
Methods: We used longitudinal data, collecting baseline data for 2021-2022 and follow-up in 2022-2023. A total of 3,206 students were enrolled, including 1,510 males (Age ± SE: 13.
Background: The incidence of chronic diseases is on the rise worldwide, with a high mortality rate in China, posing a serious threat to the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of middle-aged and older adults. This study explores the association between chronic diseases and the HRQoL of middle-aged and older adults, as well as the role of physical activity (PA) and degree of digitization in this relationship.
Methods: The data used in this study was obtained from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), which included 13,620 middle-aged and older Chinese adults (≥ 45 years).
Background: The global public health issue of diminishing physical fitness among adolescents has gained increasing attention. The impact of parents' negative emotions or pressure regarding adolescents' educational aspirations may have a passive impact on the quality of life and adaptation of adolescents in and out of school, and ultimately harm their physical health. This study aims to explore whether parent-child discrepancies in educational aspirations influence physical fitness in adolescents through school adaptation and quality of life.

In addition, five known steroidal alkaloids were also identified. The structures of these compounds were determined through the use of NMR, HRESIMS,UV, IR and ECD analysis.

Herein, we prepare two series of TiO (rutile and P25) with increasing oxygen deficiency and Ti concentration by pulsed laser defect engineering in liquid (PUDEL), and selectively quantify the acidic and basic surface OH by fluoride substitution.

Two previously undescribed steroidal alkaloids, compounds 1-2, along with two known ones(3-4), were isolated from the 80% ethanol extract of ripe berries of Solanum nigrum by chromatographic methods, including silica gel, ODS, and HPLC. Based on spectroscopic and chemical evidence, including IR, NMR, and HR-ESI-MS data, the structures of the isolated compounds were identified as 12β,27-dihydroxy solasodine-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(1), 27-hydroxy solasodine-3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)]-β-D-glucopyranoside(2), solalyraine A(3), and 12β,27-dihydroxy solasodine(4). Compounds 1-2 were tested for their potential effects against the proliferation of A549 cells, which revealed that compounds 1-2 had weak cytotoxic activity.

The first worry about the side-effect of influencing driving drugs is central nervous system adverse reaction, and anti-hypersensitivity drugs are a class of drugs with such side effects meanwhile has been widely used for common allergic diseases thus posing a great challenge to road safety and demanding a rapid and efficient method to detect. In this work, a method based on magnetic graphene oxide dispersive solid phase extraction (MGO-D-SPE) combined with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) was firstly introduced for simultaneous determination of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, diphenhydramine, promethazine and terfenadine in saliva and urine matrices.

Comprehensive spectroscopy techniques were used to determine their structures. Although 1-8 only showed a weak inhibitory effect on the proliferation of the tumor-derived vascular endothelial cells, however, in a former study we found both total steroidal glycoalkaloids from Solanum lyratum (TSGS) and 9 significantly inhibited tumor angiogenesis and its mechanism was linked to its ability to interfere with cell membrane lipid rafts.

Therefore, a sensitive method is needed for detection and quantification. The present work described and validated a method for the quantification of one PGI (namely 1,4-benzodioxane-6-aldehyde) in Eliglustat tartrate (EGT) active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) substances using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) as sample preparation to remove matrix effect and detected by HPLC-UV.
