Pyrolysis of used tires is a promising method for recovering valuable chemicals. However, the conventional high-temperature pyrolysis of natural rubber (polyisoprene)-based tires suffers from a low-selective isoprene recovery, heavy carbon black (CB) damage, and coke formation on the CB. In this paper, we report on characteristics of the low-temperature pyrolysis of CB-containing polyisoprene-based tire rubber that is vulcanized with sulfur.

Comparison between single-muscle evaluation and cross-sectional area muscle evaluation for predicting the prognosis in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma: a retrospective cohort study.

The effects of cloth face masks on cardiorespiratory responses and VO during maximal incremental running protocol among apparently healthy men.

We aimed to determine the effects of wearing a cloth face mask on cardiorespiratory response, peak oxygen uptake (Vo), respiratory muscle effort, and exercise tolerance during incremental exercise. The study had a randomized crossover design: 11 apparently healthy young men performed the Bruce protocol treadmill test in two conditions, wearing a cloth face mask (CFM) and without CFM (CON), in random order. Minute ventilation and oxygen uptake were measured using a mass spectrometry metabolic analyzer; cardiac output (CO) was measured using an impedance CO monitor; and mouth pressure (P) was measured and calculated as an integral P to assess respiratory muscle effort.

Prognostic value of inflammatory biomarkers in aged patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Better prognostic biomarkers for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) must be developed, particularly within the realm of clinically and frequently administered tests, to advise appropriate clinical therapy and follow-up. We report a case of a woman with primary hypertriglyceridemia caused by acquired glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored high-density lipoprotein binding protein 1 (GPIHBP1) autoantibody. This case highlights the necessity of detecting GPIHBP1 autoantibody in patients with acquired hypertriglyceridemia. ().
