Soft robots with good deformability and adaptability have important prospects in the bionics and intelligence field. However, current research into soft robots is primarily limited to the study of actuators and ignores the integrated use of functional devices and actuators. To enrich the functions of soft robots and expand their application fields, it is necessary to integrate various functional electronic devices into soft robots to perform diverse functions during dynamic deformation.

Article Synopsis
  • Silica aerogel, known for its advanced thermal insulation properties, has potential uses beyond its current applications, particularly in dental restoration.
  • By creating silica aerogel/resin composites, researchers found that a specific ratio of resin components and a 12.5% silica aerogel content significantly improved mechanical strength, achieving a flexural strength of 62.9546 MPa.
  • The resultant composite also exhibited exceptional antibacterial properties, making it suitable for dental materials and opening up new possibilities for silica aerogel use in biomedical applications.
