The STAT3 pathway promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition, migration, invasion and metastasis in cancer. STAT3 upregulates the transcription of the key epithelial-mesenchymal transition transcription factor SNAIL in a DNA binding-independent manner. However, the mechanism by which STAT3 is recruited to the SNAIL promoter to upregulate its expression is still elusive.

The ApoE~(-/-) mice were randomly divided into five groups: control group, mo delgroup, positive group treated with ezetimibe of 5 mg·kg~(-1)(EG), and low(100 mg·kg~(-1)) and high dose(200 mg·kg~(-1)) groups ofDSE. xcept for the control group, all other groups were fed a high-fat diet and administered drugs for 16 successive weeks.

Methods: Based on the RDW index, patients with breast cancer in the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC-IV) database were categorized into quartiles. The primary outcomes included in-hospital mortality from all causes during the first six months, the first year, and the first three years.
Background: Cancer remains one of the major health issues globally, where chemotherapy forms the main treatment mode for different types of cancers. Due to cancer cell ability to develop resistance, decreased clinical effectiveness of anticancer drugs can occur. Therefore, the need to synthesize novel antitumor drugs remains important.

Four pairs of isomers (1a/1b, 2a/2b, 3a/3b, and 4a/4b) were resolved by using chiral-phase HPLC separation. Their structures, including the absolute configurations of the resolved isomers, were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data (1D and 2D NMR, IR, and HRESIMS), single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations.

Four new phenolic glucosides, cannabifolins G-J (1-4), together with four known ones (5-8), were isolated from the leaves of Vitex negundo var. cannabifolia. Their structures were established by comprehensive analysis of 1D and 2D NMR data and comparison of their spectroscopic and physical data with the literature values.

Metastasis is a major cause of breast cancer mortality and the current study found histone demethylase, KDM2A, expression to be negatively correlated with breast cancer metastasis. KDM2A knockdown greatly promoted migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. The histone demethylase activity of KDM2A downregulated EGF transcription and suppressed the EGF-TSPAN8 pathway.

The planar structures of 1-4 were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis including HRESIMS and 1D/2D NMR. The absolute configurations of new compounds were established by ECD data.
