Introduction/background: TOP3B (Topoisomerase III-Beta) is a DNA topoisomerase enzyme essential for managing DNA topology during various cellular processes. TOP3B knockout mice typically develop but have a shorter lifespan; however, the exact role of TOP3B is not fully understood. This study aims to investigate the diversity of TOP3B across various mammalian species, with a particular focus on comparing the naked mole-rat (Heterocephalus glaber), known for its exceptional longevity and genomic stability, and humans (Homo sapiens).

Chemical doping of the kagome plane can simultaneously tune the exotic states and the Fermi-surface orbital texture and thus offers a unique opportunity to correlate the given states with specific orbitals. In this Letter, by substituting V atoms with Ti in the kagome superconductor CsV_{3}Sb_{5}, we reveal the orbital origin of a cascade of its correlated electronic states through the orbital-resolved quasiparticle interference.

Herein, we present a nitrogen and ruthenium dual-doping strategy to tailor the electronic structures of NiCoP(N, Ru-NiCoP), creating high-performance bifunctional electrodes for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The dual-doping approach is favorable for electronic interactions within the NiCoP and CoP, yielding a near-zero Gibbs free energy for H adsorption.

Ferroptosis is a nonapoptotic cell death caused by lipid peroxidation, and microsomal glutathione transferase 1 (MGST1) is a critical enzyme that resists lipid peroxidation. This study explored how TIPE regulates MGST1 expression to inhibit ferroptosis and promote colorectal cancer proliferation.

Here, we report the discovery of superconductivity and electronic nematic order in high-quality single-crystals of a new titanium-based kagome metal, CsTiBi, that preserves the translation symmetry, in stark contrast to the charge density wave superconductor AVSb. Transport and magnetic susceptibility measurements show superconductivity with an onset superconducting transition temperature T of approximately 4.

Vitamin B6 (VB6), as an essential component involved in numerous biological activities of animals and plants, reflects the nutritional quality of cereal crops such as rice. Few studies have been conducted to mine the genes controlling the VB6 content in rice grains, and the available studies remain to be deepened. In this study, the recombinant inbred lines created from parents 'HZ' and 'Nekken2' served as the experimental materials.

However, the atomic visualization of its nontrivial surface states and MZM remains elusive. Here, we report the direct observation of unconventional surface states and vortex zero mode in AuSn by scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy.

The mice were divided into the control group, cyclophosphamide-induced (CTX) group, and ABPs-treated (ABP) group. The results showed that, compared with the CTX group, ABPs could significantly improve the spleen index and alleviate the pathological changes in immune organs.

Only 29 patients have been reported; nevertheless, it is aggressive and highly malignant with poor outcomes. It has an immunohistochemical phenotype showing loss of SMARCA4 expression and can be accompanied by codeletion of other switch/sucrose non-fermentable chromatin-remodeling complex subunits.

Here, we use laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy in combination with density functional theory calculations to investigate the electronic structure of the newly discovered kagome superconductor CsTiBi, which is isostructural to the AVSb (A = K, Rb or Cs) kagome superconductor family and possesses a two-dimensional kagome network of titanium. We directly observe a striking flat band derived from the local destructive interference of Bloch wave functions within the kagome lattice.
