Experiment I included 64 Sichuan White Geese to investigate the optimal additive amount of HILM in diet, and experiment II included 32 Sichuan White Geese to access serum immunoglobulin, spleen immune-related genes, intestinal morphology and gut microbiota at the optimal additive amount of HILM. The results showed that the addition of 1% HILM significantly increased the ADG of Sichuan White Geese ( < 0.

However, current studies of SHs have primarily focused on estrogenic substances, with androgen-related studies being quite limited. We optimized the solid-phase extraction (SPE) pretreatment method, as well as the enzymolysis conditions of five androgens (androstenedione, boldenone, methandienone, nandrolone, and testosterone), to simultaneously determine their concentrations in the effluent from wastewater treatment plants and surface water samples.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcrylamide, as a Class 2A carcinogen, poses serious threats to human health. To achieve rapid and accurate determination of acrylamide in food, a ratiometric fluorescent "off-on" sensor was designed by incorporating red-emitting copper nanoclusters and glutathione. Copper nanoclusters with bimodal emission at 395 nm and 650 nm (excited at 310 nm) were synthesized by using bovine serum albumin as the ligand and ascorbic acid as the reductant.

Our understanding of the molecular regulation of this fusion event remains incomplete. Here, we identified RUNDC1 as a novel ATG14-interacting protein, which is highly conserved across vertebrates, including zebrafish and humans.

Maternal behaviors can influence offspring's development and behaviors, as indicated in both human and animal studies. We hypothesized that abnormal maternal behaviors in MIA dams might be other factors leading to delayed development and abnormal behaviors in offspring.

However, studies concerning the excretion of endogenous metabolites due to oxidative stress and the consumption of anabolic steroids have rarely been involved. In this study, we compared the effects of events such as final examination and sports meeting on the levels of four oxidative stress biomarkers (8-isoPGF, HNE-MA, 8-OHdG, and HCY) and four prohibited anabolic steroids (Testosterone, Androstenedione, Boldenone, and Metandienone) in sewage, using university students and urban populations as studying target.

To summarize the clinical characteristics of children undergoing surgery of cochlear reimplantation, focus on various problems and management in cochlear reimplantation, in order to avoid related problems in surgery of cochlear reimplantation and the initial implantation. A total of 32 children who underwent cochlear reimplantation in Peking University Third Hospital from July 2018 to July 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, and the duration from the initial implantation was from 1 year to 8 years. The cochlear implant mapping was performed 4 weeks after the operation, and the auditory performance was evaluated.

Mitochondria are cell organelles that fuel the energy essential for biochemical reactions and maintain normal physiological functions of the body. Mitochondrial metabolic disorders are extensively involved in the progression of CVD, especially for energy-demanding organs such as the heart.

However, most of the generic "quality of life" questionnaires do not include communication-related questions. Recently, a new "Meaning of Life" (MOL) questionnaire was developed to measure quality of life based on everyday issues, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of tinnitus patients and cochlear implant users.

Our goal was to investigate whether the redox state of SERCA2 C674 is critical for cardiac fibrosis and the mechanisms involved. Heterozygous SERCA2 C674S knock-in (SKI) mice, in which half of C674 was substituted by serine, were used to mimic the partial loss of the reactive C674 thiol in pathological conditions.

The erroneous example can easily trigger learners' confusion and metacognition, which may "force" students to process the learning material and construct meaning deeply. However, some learners exhibit a low level of elaboration activity and spend little time on each example.

There are a growing number of methods to detect a person's breathing rate, but most techniques still either require contact with body skin or are usually uncomfortable to wear, too expensive and unfriendly for daily monitoring. The massive adoption of smartphones in recent years has created many opportunities to improve daily health monitoring. In this work, we demonstrated that off-the-shelf ToF lens on smartphones can capture a person's breathing rate while still.
