Introduction: Several studies of MADS-box transcription factors in flowering plants have been conducted, and these studies have indicated that they have conserved functions in floral organ development; MIKC-type MADS-box genes has been proved to be expanded in ferns, however, few systematic studies of these transcription factors have been conducted in non-seed plants. Although ferns and seed plants are sister groups, they exhibit substantial morphological differences.

Methods: Here, we clarified the evolution of MADS-box genes across 71 extant fern species using available transcriptome, genome, and gene expression data.

Purpose: To identify gene signatures that are shared by autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and epilepsy (EP) and explore the potential molecular mechanism of the two diseases using WGCNA analysis. Additionally, to verify the effects of the shared molecular mechanism on ADHD, which is another neurological comorbidity.

Methods: We screened the crosstalk genes between ASD and EP based on WGCNA and differential expression analysis from GEO and DisGeNET database and analyzed the function of the genes' enrichment by GO and KEGG analyses.

Function and potential mechanism of microvesicles (MVs) containing microRNA34a in renal interstitial fibrosis were investigated. A rat model of renal interstitial fibrosis was established by unilateral ureteral ligation (UUO). Rat proximal tubular epithelial cell line (NRK-52E) was used to explore the effect of MVs containing microRNA-34a on tubular epithelial cells during fibrosis, which were secreted by tubulointerstitial fibroblasts.
