Trichostatin A (TSA), a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, has been shown to have neuroprotective, neurotrophic and anti-inflammatory properties in both animal and cellular models of neurodegenerative disorders. In a previous study of ours, we demonstrated that TSA inhibited the proliferation and increased the differentiation of neuronal precursor cells (NPCs). However, the effects of TSA on Schwann cells (SCs) have not yet been fully elucidated.
