The mechanization of rice production in China has been accompanied by a rapid reduction in agricultural labor forces and increase in machinery purchase subsidies; however, the comprehensive performance of several major mechanized production modes regarding output, environmental protection, and profit remains uncertain to the Chinese government and farmers alike. Here, a five-year (2015-2019) field experiment was conducted to analyze the performance of farmers' mechanized seedling transplanting (FMST), farmers' mechanized direct seeding (FMDS), and reduced-input direct seeding (RIDS) concerning grain yield, energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and economic benefits. RIDS used an unmanned aerial vehicle for sowing, fertilizing, and spraying, while adopting no-tillage, bed-furrow irrigation technology.

Real-time processing of high-resolution sonar images is of great significance for the autonomy and intelligence of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) in complex marine environments. In this paper, we propose a real-time semantic segmentation network termed RT-Seg for Side-Scan Sonar (SSS) images. The proposed architecture is based on a novel encoder-decoder structure, in which the encoder blocks utilized Depth-Wise Separable Convolution and a 2-way branch for improving performance, and a corresponding decoder network is implemented to restore the details of the targets, followed by a pixel-wise classification layer.

This study aims to investigate the neuroprotective effects of Coptis chinensis Franch polysaccharide (CCP) on Aβ transgenic CL4176 Caenorhabditis elegans, as well as its mechanism of action. The results in life span experiment showed that CCP could significantly increase the lifespan of C. elegans and the effect is in the descending order of 100mg/L>500mg/L>200mg/L.

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have attracted attentions all around the world. However, little is known about their distribution among water, suspended particulate matter (SPM), and sediment phases in rivers, especially for the short-chain PFASs. In this work, the Yellow River, the largest turbid river in the world, was selected as a case to study eleven kinds of PFASs in the three phases of rivers.

A series of platinum(II) terpyridyl complexes with phenolic ethynyl ligands have been synthesized and characterized. Their photophysical and sensing properties towards anions such as fluoride, acetate and dihydrogenphosphate have been investigated. These complexes show a colorimetric response and fluorescence quenching in the presence of anions including fluoride, acetate and dihydrogenphosphate, and selective sensing towards fluoride in some cases.
