Aims: The objective of this research is to investigate the association between the number of teeth and frailty in the geriatric population.
Design: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Shanghai Fifth People's Hospital, Fudan University, from May 2021 to September 2021.
Methods: A cohort of 538 community-dwelling older adults aged 60 years or above was included in the analysis.
Objective: To evaluate the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy on anxiety and depressive symptoms in patients with advanced cancer.
Methods: A systematical search was conducted on Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, Chinese Biomedical Database, CNKI, VIP Database, and Wanfang database, and the search time was from the inception to May 26, 2023. Randomized controlled trials focusing on the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy on anxiety and depressive symptoms in patients with advanced cancer were collected using relevant terms such as advanced stage, cancer, anxiety, depression, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is the second most common autoimmune rheumatism. Huoxue Jiedu Recipe (HXJDR) is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine with a variety of pharmacological functions; however, its biological function in SS has not been studied yet. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and serum samples were isolated from healthy controls and patients with SS.

Purpose: The main objectives of the China Rheumatoid Arthritis Registry of Patients with Chinese Medicine (CERTAIN) were to describe the population of RA patients receiving CM treatment in multiple centers in China using different variables and compare these findings with internationally reported data.
In the era of artificial intelligence, the healthcare industry is undergoing tremendous innovation and development based on sophisticated AI algorithms. Focusing on diagnosis process and target disease, this study theoretically proposed an integrated model to optimize traditional medical expense system, and ultimately helps medical staff and patients make more reliable decisions. From the new perspective of total expense estimation and detailed expense analysis, the proposed model innovatively consists of two intelligent modules, with theoretical contribution.

Here, we report a case of a young Chinese woman with recurrent optic neuritis who was diagnosed with asymptomatic SS and NMOSD.
Patient Concerns: A 22-year-old Chinese woman suffered from optic neuritis for 3 years.
There is a growing awareness that bacterial interactions follow a highly nonlinear pattern in reality. However, it is challenging to track the varying bacterial interactions using pairwise correlation analysis, which fails to explore their potential effects on the behavior of microbes. Here, we utilized a regularized sequential locally weighted global linear map (S-map) to capture the varying interspecific interactions from the time series data of a bacterial community under exposure to nitrite.

Chronic inflammation in fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) induced by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α plays a key role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R) is one of the G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) mediating the intracellular signalling of substance P (SP). However, the possible implications of NK-1R in rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLSs) and the pathogenesis of RA have not yet been reported.

Here we generated a miR-155 genome knockout (GKO) RAW264.7 macrophage cell line using the clustered regulatory interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (CAS9) technology.

However, previous researches about the relationship between the +405G>C (dbSNP: rs2010963) polymorphism in VEGF gene and the risk of IMIDs are controversial and inconsistent. So we conducted this meta-analysis to assess whether the relationship between the +405G>C polymorphism in the 5'-UTR region of VEGF gene and IMID susceptibility exists.

Methods: An ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was developed for simultaneous quantitation of six Aconitum alkaloids in beagle dog plasma after oral administration of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata decoction. UPLC/MS/MS system coupled with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source was performed in multiple-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode.

Toxicity of Chinese materia medica (CMM) is an important part of Chinese herbal nature theory. In clinical application, the dosage, time limitation and compatibility of CMM is mainly determined by toxicity. At present, there is no uniform toxicity classification standard for the evaluation of Chinese herbal toxicity.
