Rechargeable batteries employing Li metal anodes have gained increasing attention due to their high energy density. Nevertheless, low stability and reversibility of Li metal anodes severely impeded their practical applications. Designing current collectors (CCs) with reasonable structure and composition is an efficient approach to stabilizing the Li metal anodes.

Herein, a highly sensitive polydimethylsiloxane-filled graphene woven fabric (PDMS-f-GWF) strain sensor by optimizing the PDMS cure shrinkage through careful adjustment of the base-to-curing-agent ratio is developed. This sensor achieves a gauge factor of ∼700 at 25% strain, which is over 6 times higher than sensors using commercially formulated PDMS.

Objective: Primary liver cancer (PLC) is projected to be the third leading cause of cancer mortality in the United States in 2040. We examine the burden of PLC in the United States, stratified by sex, state and aetiological risk factors.
Methods: Data on PLC prevalence, incidence, death and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021.
Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are promising options for large-scale electrical energy storage because of their safety, affordability, and environmental friendliness. As an indispensable component of AZIBs, a current collector plays a crucial role in supporting electrode materials and collecting the accumulated electrical energy. Recently, some progress has been made in the study of current collectors for AZIBs; however, only few comprehensive reviews on this topic are available.

Purpose: Our study presents a virtual reality-based tangent screen test (VTS) to measure subjective ocular deviations including torsion in nine directions of gaze. The test was compared to the analogous Harms tangent screen test (HTS).
Methods: We used an Oculus Go controller and head-mounted-display with rotation sensors to measure patient's head orientation for the VTS.
Teucrifarides A-D (1-4), four previously unreported neo-clerodane-type diterpenoids, combined with sixteen known analogs (5-20), were purified from Teucrium quadrifarium. The absolute forma of compounds 1-4 were determined via spectroscopic and ECD calculation methods, together with X-ray crystallography experiments. Among them, compound 1 possessed a 5,20-epoxy ring featuring a unique cage-like 12-oxatricyclo [5.

However, the emergence of chemotherapy resistance significantly limits its efficacy, posing a major clinical challenge. Moreover, heterogeneity of resistance mechanisms across cancer types complicates the development of universally effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Methods: A total of 49 patients with simple renal cysts were divided into two groups based on the treatment method: 29 patients (group 1) underwent laparoscopic deroofing, 20 patients (group 2) underwent ultrasonography-guided aspiration and sclerotherapy. The clinical efficacy differences between the two groups were compared.
Immunometabolism is critical in the regulation of immunity and inflammation; however, the mechanism of preventing aberrant activation-induced immunopathology remains largely unclear. Here, we report that glyoxalase II (GLO2) in the glycolysis branching pathway is specifically downregulated by NF-κB signaling during innate immune activation via tristetraprolin (TTP)-mediated mRNA decay. As a result, its substrate S-D-lactoylglutathione (SLG) accumulates in the cytosol and directly induces D-lactyllysine modification of proteins.

Over the last two decades, protein kinases including Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) α and β have been implicated in sleep regulation. Of all the known mouse genetic mutants, the biggest changes in sleep is reported to be observed in adult mice with sgRNAs for Camk2b injected into their embryos: sleep is reduced by approximately 120 min (mins) over 24 h (hrs).

SIRT6, a member of the sirtuin protein family, is recognized as a tumor suppressor. This study investigates the evolutionary history of the SIRT gene family and examines the selective pressures shaping their functional divergence. Insights into the evolution of these genes may enhance our understanding of their roles in disease pathology.

Bacterial pneumonia is a significant public health burden, contributing to substantial morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Current therapeutic strategies beyond antibiotics and adjuvant therapies are limited, highlighting the need for a deeper understanding of the disease pathogenesis. Here, we employed single-cell RNA sequencing of 444,146 bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells (BALFs) from a large cohort of 74 individuals, including 58 patients with mild (n = 22) and severe (n = 36) diseases as well as 16 healthy donors.

The development of novel and more effective interventions for PF is an urgent clinical need. A previous study has found that miR-181a-5p plays an important role in the development of PF, and human amniotic mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSCs) exert potent therapeutic potential on PF.

For the aim of providing a better therapeutic strategy, high-quality trials are required to validate the efficacy of thrombolytic medicine other than intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen and tenecteplase. In the trial, we evaluate the efficacy and safety of urokinase (UK) in acute minor stroke.

Background: Primary mediastinal liposarcomas (PLMs) are extremely rare. Patients typically present with symptoms caused by tumor size, as the mass can compress surrounding tissues and organs. Here, we report a case of a large primary mediastinal liposarcoma that was successfully resected thoracoscopically.

It is important to study the immune response of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant due to its remarkable ability to escape the majority of existing SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies. The surge in SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infections among most Chinese residents by the end of 2022 provides a unique opportunity to understand immune system's response to Omicron in populations with limited exposure to prior SARS-CoV-2 variants.
