Ferroptosis is a type of non-apoptotic regulated cell death characterized by iron accumulation and lipid peroxidation. Cisplatin is an effective chemotherapy drug with several serious side effects including acute kidney injury (AKI). Asprosin is a peptide contributing to metabolism regulation and metabolic disorders.

Peli1 (pellino E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase 1) plays a critical role in regulating the production of proinflammatory cytokines and the polarization of macrophages in various diseases. However, the role of Peli1 in PH remains to be investigated.

Study Design: Retrospective.
Objective: To explore the value of time-resolved CE-MRA in evaluating and locating the SVM prior to digital subtraction angiography (DSA).
Summary Of Background Data: Spinal vascular malformations (SVM) can be detected with time-resolved contrast-enhanced MRA(CE-MRA).
Developing a generalist radiology diagnosis system can greatly enhance clinical diagnostics. In this paper, we introduce RadDiag, a foundational model supporting 2D and 3D inputs across various modalities and anatomies, using a transformer-based fusion module for comprehensive disease diagnosis. Due to patient privacy concerns and the lack of large-scale radiology diagnosis datasets, we utilize high-quality, clinician-reviewed radiological images available online with diagnosis labels.

Introduction: It remains unclear whether the local amyloid-beta (Aβ) burden in key regions within the default mode network (DMN) affects network and cognitive functions.
Methods: Participants included 1002 individuals from the Chinese Preclinical Alzheimer's Disease Study cohort who underwent 18F-florbetapir positron emission tomography resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging scanning and neuropsychological tests. The correlations between precuneus (PRC) Aβ burden, DMN function, and cognitive function were investigated.
Introduction: Mechanical thrombectomy (MTB) is a critical procedure for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. However, the free-text format of MTB surgical records limits the formulation of effective postoperative patient management and rehabilitation plans. This study compares the efficacy of large language models (LLMs) in structuring data from these free-text MTB surgical record.

Investigating the role of Tregs in Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is crucial for identifying prognostic markers and therapeutic targets for ccRCC.
Methods: Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was utilized to pinpoint modules related to Treg infiltration in TCGA-KIRC samples.
Breast cancer (BC) is a common malignancy that affects women worldwide. Although transducing beta-like 2 (TBL2), a member of the WD40 repeat protein family, has been implicated in various intracellular signaling pathways, its precise function in BC remains unclear. The expression of TBL2 is analyzed using real-time PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry in BC patient specimens.

In this study, single-cell RNA sequencing and single-cell T cell receptor sequencing are conducted on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patient with early-stage breast cancer before and after IORT. Following IORT combined with surgery (defined as IORT+Surgery), PBMC counts remained stable, with increased proportions of T cells, mononuclear phagocytes, and plasma cells, and a reduction in neutrophil proportions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtherosclerosis-induced lethal cardiovascular disease remains a severe healthcare threat due to the limited drug efficiency and untimely prediction of high-risk events caused by inadequate target specificity of medications, incapable recognition of insensitive patients, and variable morphology of vulnerable plaques. Therefore, it is necessary to develop efficient strategies to improve the diagnosis accuracy and achieve visualized treatment of atherosclerosis. Herein, we establish an inflamed endothelium-targeted three-in-one nucleic acid nanogel system that can reverse the inflammatory state of endothelial cells (ECs) in plaques and simultaneously achieve real-time monitoring of the therapy process for efficient atherosclerosis diagnosis and treatment.

The exacerbation of ALI during sepsis is largely attributed to uncontrolled inflammatory responses and endothelial dysfunction. Emerging evidence suggests an important role of Z-DNA binding protein 1 (ZBP1) as a sensor in innate immune to drive inflammatory signaling and cell death during infections.

In bone tissue engineering, achieving a balance between pore characteristics that facilitate biological functions and the essential stiffness required for load-bearing functions is extremely challenging. This study employs binder jet additive manufacturing to fabricate an interconnected porous structure in Mg alloys that mimics the microporosity and mechanical properties of human cortical bone types.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), characterized by a low 5-year survival rate, is the most common and aggressive type of lung cancer. Recent studies have shown that tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS), which resemble lymphoid structures, are closely linked to the immune response and tumor prognosis. The functions of the tertiary lymphoid structure-related genes (TLS-RGs) in the tumor microenvironment (TME) are poorly understood.

PSMD is based on skeletonization of MR DTI data and histogram analysis. Both chronic renal failure (CRF) and WML may be affected by multisystemic small-vessel disorder.

Activation of transcriptional factor c-Myc promotes TEC proliferation following KI/R; however, the mechanism regarding c-Myc activation in TEC is incompletely known. Heat shock protein A12A (HSPA12A) is an atypic member of HSP70 family.
