To enhance the low-frequency sound absorption capabilities of expansion chamber mufflers, a novel Helmholtz-ring phononic crystal cell was developed. This innovative design integrates ring Helmholtz resonators as the phononic crystal scatterer, which is periodically arranged within the expansion chamber of a muffler to achieve enhanced sound attenuation at deep sub-wavelength scales. The transmission loss characteristics of the phononic crystal muffler were thoroughly examined and found to reveal a pronounced enhancement in sound absorption within the low-frequency bandgap.

Objectives: To explore the causal relationship between ferroptosis-related gene heat shock protein A5 (HSPA5) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Introduction And Objectives: Recent studies have indicated a potential association of hypertension with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and other autoimmune diseases, yet the impact of antihypertensive drugs on HT risk is not well understood.

Methods: We employed a drug-target Mendelian randomization approach to investigate the prolonged impact of 9 classes of antihypertensive medications on HT susceptibility in European and Asian populations. Purpose: To investigate the use of tubularized incised plate (TIP) urethroplasty for distal second- and third-degree hypospadias to free the dysplastic forked corpus spongiosum and Buck's fascia, which are used as a covering material for the new urethra, thereby reducing the incidence of urinary fistula and other complications in the coronal sulcus.

Materials And Methods: Clinical data of 113 patients with distal hypospadias treated with TIP urethroplasty from January 2017 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The study group comprised 58 patients (use of dysplastic corpus spongiosum and Buck's fascia to cover the new urethra), and the control group comprised 55 patients (use of dorsal Dartos fascia to cover the new urethra).
