Abnormal functional connectivity strength in age-related macular degeneration patients: a fMRI study.

Objective: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a serious blinding eye disease. Previous neuroimaging studies reported that AMD were accompanied by abnormalities of the brain. However, whether AMD patients were associated with functional connectivity strength (FCS) or not remains unknown.

Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of visual loss in the developed world and damages the central retina. [Expression and Clinical Significance of Serum MiR-424 and MiR-765 in Multiple Myeloma].

Objective: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of miR-424 and miR-765 in patients with multiple myeloma (MM).

Methods: The eighty-one MM patients admitted to Sanya Central Hospital from January 2017 to July 2020 were divided into phase Ⅰ (n=16), phase Ⅱ (n=25) and phase Ⅲ (n=40) according to the international staging system, while they were divided into IgG type (n=46), IgA type (n=19), light chain type (n=10) and non secretory type (n=6) according to the results of immunotyping. Another 50 healthy normal persons in the same period were selected as the control group.

Effect of parecoxib in the treatment of postoperative cognitive dysfunction: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Parecoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor widely used as an analgesia technique in perioperative period for its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. However, litter is known about its effect on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). The purpose of this meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was to evaluate the effect of parecoxib in the treatment of postoperative cognitive dysfunction.

Inhibition of tumor growth and metastasis by photoimmunotherapy targeting tumor-associated macrophage in a sorafenib-resistant tumor model.

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) play essential roles in tumor invasion and metastasis, and contribute to drug resistance. Clinical evidence suggests that TAM levels are correlated with local tumor relapse, distant metastasis, and poor prognosis in patients. In this study, we synthesized a TAM-targeted probe (IRD-αCD206) by conjugating a monoclonal anti-CD206 antibody with a near-infrared phthalocyanine dye.

[Comparison of echocardiographic parameters in healthy Chinese children born and living at high altitude or at sea-level].

Objective: Chronic hypoxia at high altitude might result in cardiopulmonary adaptations including pulmonary arterial hypertension and cardiac remodeling. But little is known about the adaptive changes in healthy children born and living at high altitude. We compared the echocardiographic measurements between the healthy children living at 16 m (Shanghai, n = 220) and 3 700 m (Qinghai, total 257, Han children 117, Tibetan children 140).

Anatomical and hemodynamic evaluations of the heart and pulmonary arterial pressure in healthy children residing at high altitude in China.

Objectives: Altitude-hypoxia induces pulmonary arterial hypertension and altered cardiac morphology and function, which is little known in healthy children at high altitude. We compared the cardiopulmonary measurements between the healthy children at 16 m and those at 3700 m in China and between the Hans and the Tibetans at 3700 m.

Methods: Echocardiography was assessed in 477 children (15 day-14 years) including 220 at 16 m and 257 at 3700 m.
