Mercury (II) ions (Hg) are a significant source of heavy metal contamination in groundwater, posing a serious threat to human health and the environment. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of a new detection technique with high sensitivity for monitoring Hg in contaminated groundwater. Here, we developed a signal amplifying MOF-based probe (NXS@ZIF-8) for on-site and ultrasensitive dual-channel portable detection of Hg in groundwater.

However, the relatively high dark current density still limits its development. Herein, two novel nonpolar p-type conjugated small molecules, NSN and NSSN, are synthesized as interface layers to enhance the performance of the OPDs, which not only can tune energy alignments and increase the reverse charge injection barrier but also can reduce the interfacial trap density.

As a member of the chalcogenide family, NiSe exhibits a direct bandgap of 1.74 eV, making it a promising candidate for nonlinear optical devices. However, its potential in the near-infrared region of the telecommunication band has not been fully explored.

Therefore, it is necessary to continuously develop new treatment methods. Polymyxin B (PMB), as the last line of defense, can combat most aerobic Gram-negative bacilli including common drug-resistant bacteria in clinical practice.

Herein, we synthesized iron-loaded covalent organic framework nanospheres, which were then controllably transformed into a carbon-based nanozyme with both iron single atoms and iron clusters through simple pyrolysis. We discovered that the gradual growth of iron clusters significantly boosted the nanozyme's adsorption onto the substrate and electron transfer, greatly influencing its activity.

Despite advancements in the design of organic luminescent materials and the optimization of device geometry configurations, maintaining operating voltage low while enhancing optical performances remains a key challenge in horizontally structured OLETs. Here, a simple and effective interfacial engineering strategy is employed to improve the optical properties of horizontal OLETs operating at low voltage, by introducing ultraviolet ozone (UVO)-induced surface modification on high-k dielectrics.

To elucidate GABRP's signaling mechanism, we determined cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM) structures of GABRP embedded in native nanodiscs, both in the presence and absence of GABA. Structurally, GABRP homopentamers closely resemble heteropentameric GABAR anion channels, transitioning from a closed "resting" state to an open "active" state upon GABA binding.

Marburg virus (MARV) is a zoonotic virus that can infect humans and non-human primates (NHPs) and lead to a fatal Marburg hemorrhagic fever (MHF), while there is no approved vaccine or antiviral treatment for MHF. The nucleic acid vaccine has unique advantages, including fast and simple preparation, easy to follow the virus mutation situation, and less adverse reactions. Therefore, we constructed the DNA and mRNA candidate vaccines based on codon-optimized MARV glycoprotein sequence, and evaluated the immune effect in mice through ELISA, ELISpot, and Flow cytometry.

Herein, an effective approach is presented to address this challenge through interphase engineering by using a cross-linked polyamide (negative electrostatic potential) that is chemically anchored to the surface of LiPSCl (positive electrostatic potential). This method improves contact between electrolyte particles and strategically modifies the local electronic structure at the grain boundary.

The glycoprotein (GP) of MARV mediates viral adhesion and invasion of host cells and therefore can be used as an effective target for vaccine development. Moreover, DNA vaccines have unique advantages, such as simple construction processes, low production costs, and few adverse reactions, but their immunogenicity may decrease due to the poor absorption rate of plasmids.

This further affects the stability of the pile foundation and degrades the construction progress. To explore the influence mechanisms of the concrete hydration heat on the permafrost temperature field around the pile, as well as that of different construction seasons on the pile-side boundary conditions and permafrost temperature field, monitoring results of on-site tests and numerical simulation were used to analyze the distribution law of the pile soil temperature field in space and time, and the pile-side boundary conditions and permafrost temperature field during construction seasons.

Building vulnerability is characterized as a function of landslide hazard risk and building resistance, wherein landslide hazard risk is derived using CNN (1D) for nine hazard-causing factors (elevation, slope, slope shape, geotechnical body type, geological structure, vegetation cover, watershed, and land-use type) and landslide sites; building resistance is determined through quantitative derivation. After evaluating the building susceptibility of all the structures, the susceptibility of each village is then calculated through subvillage statistics, which are aimed at identifying the specific needs of each area.
