Chemotherapy in head and neck osteosarcoma: Adjuvant chemotherapy improves overall survival.

Background: Osteosarcoma is an aggressive bone malignancy presenting uncommonly in head and neck sites. Surgery is mainstay in treatment. However; trials show an improved survival with addition of chemotherapy in the treatment of extremity osteosarcoma.

[Report of seven cases for space management during mixed dentition using remaining space].

Purpose: To investigate the clinical effect of space management using remaining space during teeth replacement in mixed dentition.

Methods: Fixed retainer was used to retain the remaining space for patients with space loss in mixed dentition.

Results: In 7 cases, 6 were successfully treated, the deciduous dentition was replaced with permanent dentition.

[Study of the relationship between patients' personality traits and satisfaction after fixed denture restorations].

Purpose: To investigate 98 fixed denture patients' personality traits and the relationship between patients' personality traits and satisfaction with fixed denture restoration.

Methods: 16PF questionnaire and satisfaction questionnaire were used to study 98 fixed denture patients' personality traits and the relationship between personality traits and general satisfaction and specific satisfaction. The data was analyzed with SPSS17.

[Preliminary analysis of the bilateral disc-condyle relationship of TMJ before and after prosthetic rehabilitation in edentulous patients].

Purpose: To observe the disc-condyle relationship, joint effusion, and osseous abnormalities of the condyle before and after prosthetic rehabilitation in 8 edentulous patients with asymptomatic of bilateral temporomandibular joints (TMJs).

Methods: Complete dentures of 8 edentulous patients were made. Bilateral TMJ MRI before and after prosthetic rehabilitation was performed to observe TMJ internal changes.

[Evaluation of disc position in edentulous patients with MRI].

Purpose: To detect the condyle-disc relationship with bilateral temporomandibular joint(TMJ) in edentulous patients.

Methods: The study was based on the clinical examination and bilateral MRIs of 11 edentulous patients, the clinical and MRI findings of bilateral TMJ were recorded and the disc position was observed in edentulous patients and the relationship was compared between clinical and MRI findings in those TMJs.

Results: It was noted that disc displacement was in 45% of the TMJs in edentulous patients.

[Prosthetic treatment of edentulous patient with hypohidrotic etcodermal dysplasia: report of one case].

Purpose: To explore the prosthetic treatment of edentulous patient with hypohidrotic etcodermal dysplasia, and observe the changes of esthetics, speech and masticatory function, and bilateral TMJ disc with MRI before and after treatment.

Methods: A complete denture with hypohidrotic etcodermal dysplasia of proband was made. And the changes of bilateral TMJ disc with MRI before and after prosthetic treatment were viewed.

[Effect of stress distribution of support tissues using attachment prostheses with different number of abutment].

Purpose: The purpose is to evaluate the effect of the stress distribution of support tissues when using the hinge extracoronal attachment for distal-extension prosthesis with different number of abutment.

Methods: Hinge extracoronal attachment was used for retention in distal-extension prosthesis. The 3-D photoelastic models of attachment of the denture of single abutment with the first molar or double abutments with the first molar and the second premolar were fabricated.

[Effect of stress distribution of support tissues using hinge extracoronal attachment prostheses].

Purpose: The purpose is to discuss the clinical indications of hinge extracoronal attachment.

Methods: In the experiment, the stress distribution in the periodontal support tissue of the abutment was analyzed under different numbers of abutments by EFA.

Results: There was no significant effect on the stress distribution in the supporting tissue according to the different numbers of abutments at the central occlusion, and there was an evenly stress distribution in the abutment and alveolar membrane of the area around the missing teeth.
