The study presents a novel purification method tailored for a range of linusorbs with comparable polarity, leveraging flash chromatography, a rapid and convenient technique, for large-scale purification of linusorbs. A two-step approach employing silica-phenylhexyl strategy was first used for linusorb (LO, also known as cyclolinopeptide) preparation, yielding fractions of cyclolinopeptide A, E, O with purity exceeding 90 % for each 850 mg linusorbs load. Additionally, other eight fractions containing various LOs exhibited average purities ranging from 60 % to 83 %.

Background And Aims: Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose is the leading cause of acute liver failure, with oxidative stress being a critical factor in this process. Glutathione (GSH) plays a vital defensive role. Activation of Nrf2 pathway mitigates APAP-induced liver damage by promoting GSH biosynthesis and enhancing drug detoxification.

The mechanism of enhancing oxidation stability of hot-pressed flaxseed oil by neoformed Maillard reaction products (MRPs) remains mysterious. Maillard model reaction between phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and reducing sugar of flaxseed, glucose (Glu)/fructose (Fru)/xylose (Xyl), was conducted to investigate the antioxidant characteristics of products.

Unfortunately, due to a myriad of resistance mechanisms, the double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) signals produced by tumor cells postradiotherapy often induce a diminished response from immune cells. Through chemical screening targeting deubiquitinating enzymes, we identified USP1 (Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 1) inhibitor as an enhancer of post-radiotherapy dsDNA responses.

Case Summary: A 59-year-old female patient with progressive chest tightness misdiagnosed as having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy due to LVH with obstruction was finally diagnosed with Fabry disease. Echocardiography showed LVH with severe obstruction, "binary sign," papillary muscle hypertrophy, and depressed longitudinal strain in the basal inferolateral region.
In hybrid systems where nanowires are proximity-coupled with superconductors, the low-energy theory fails to determine the topological phase with Majorana fermion (MF) when the magnetic field or proximity coupling is much stronger. To overcome this limitation, we propose a holistic approach that defines MF by considering both the motion of electrons in the nanowire and the quasiparticle excitations in the superconductor. This approach transcends the constraints of low-energy theory and offers broad applicability.

Here, we identify mitochondrial nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)⁺ deficiency as a causal factor for the development of aortic aneurysm. Multiomics analysis of 150 surgical aortic specimens indicated impaired NAD salvage and mitochondrial transport in human thoracic aortic aneurysm, with expression of the NAD transporter SLC25A51 inversely correlating with disease severity and postoperative progression.

Despite these challenges, specific antiviral drugs targeting BK virus remain elusive. Agnoprotein, a small, positively charged protein encoded by the BK virus late gene, functions in the assembly, maturation, and release of the virus.

Loss-of-function mutations in NOTCH1 were previously linked to thoracic aortopathy, a condition for which non-surgical treatment options are limited. Based on clinical proteome analysis, we hypothesized that mitochondrial fusion and biogenesis in aortic smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are crucial for regulating the progression of NOTCH1-related aortopathy. Here we demonstrate that SMC-specific Notch1 knockout mice develop aortic pathology, including stiffening, dilation and focal dissection.

Inspired by the cuttlebone's rigid cavity-wall structure with excellent energy absorption, we develop a robust hierarchical predesigned hydrogel assembly strategy to integrally synchronously assemble multiple organic and inorganic micro-nano building blocks to different structures. The two types of predesigned hydrogels, combined with hydrogen, covalent bonding, and electrostatic interactions, are layer-by-layer assembled into brick-and-mortar structures and close-packed rigid micro hollow structures in a cuttlebone-inspired structural material, respectively.

The first examples of monocyclic 1,3,2,4-diazadiborinines featuring different functional groups on the two B atoms have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Further derivatization of 4-bromophenyl-substituted 1,3,2,4-diazadiborinine has also been achieved, giving the biphenyl-substituted 1,3,2,4-diazadiborinine.

Preliminary research indicates that apoptosis evasion is a key factor in SS progression, primarily attributed to the overexpression of anti-apoptotic genes. This study aimed to investigate the value of quantitative dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) parameters in predicting the expression level of Ki-67 in HCC.
Methods: This study analyzed the data of 123 consecutive patients with HCC who underwent both Ki-67 immunohistochemistry analysis and two-phase contrast-enhanced DECT imaging.
