Self-powered ultraviolet (UV) photodetector devices are considered as one of the development trends of UV photodetector devices. The triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has great application prospects in the field of self-powered UV photodetection. However, the modulation mechanism of contact electrification (CE) by UV light is unclear at present, which makes the application of the TENG on UV photoelectric detectors difficult.

Using data from the FinnGen cohort, we performed a proteome-wide Mendelian randomization (PW-MR) analysis. Through PW-MR and Bayesian colocalization analyses, we identified EFEMP1 and MFAP4 as potential key drug targets, with EFEMP1 potentially exerting a protective effect, whereas MFAP4 may be associated with an increased risk of POP.

Five single-cell and two bulk RNA-seq datasets are integrated to screen genes in the CTAs family, revealing that Placenta specific protein 1 (Plac1) is specifically expressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cells. Sp1 Transcription (SP1) is identified as a specific regulator of Plac1, which is confirmed by cleavage under targets and tagmentation (CUT&Tag)-seq.

Given the higher incidence of UC in males and the beneficial effect of estrogen on UC, we conducted this study to examine the therapeutic potential of estrogen receptor (ER), the primary ER subtype in colon, on mucosal healing in UC. Our study is the first to report that ER activation degree was positively correlated with mucosal healing in patients with UC.

Yellow light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with a wavelength of 570-590 nm can reduce the excitability of peripheral nerves and the sensitivity of the skin, stimulate collagen synthesis, and tighten the skin, which plays an important role in skin rejuvenation. In general, commercial LEDs are made of phosphor excited by ultraviolet chips. It is very important for the development of yellow light emitters with high luminous efficiency, good stability, and environmental protection.

In this paper, we propose a novel pulse acquisition system based on MEMS technology, where finger-end pressure and micro-sensor array applications are combined to achieve a high degree of integration of multi-channel information at the pulse acquisition end. A static stress analysis model for blood vessels based on the finite element method is proposed, which is used to investigate the effects of the modulus of elasticity of the vessel wall, and the inner diameter of the vessel on the outward pressure. The blood flow patterns of people with different blood pressures were simulated by varying the pressure intensity of the vessel wall.

We delineate the tactile signal matrixes of tumor tissue with varying stiffness utilizing self-learning high-density flexible tactile sensor array, and depict the morphological features of the tumor at the fingertip tactile perception with an attention mechanism neural network. A novel algorithm to instantaneously recognize the shape and volume of tumor tissue, incorporating an attention mechanism model for autonomous learning of pressure signal characteristics from each sensing unit, is developed in the ex-vivo experiments, for the first time, by delivering the dense sensing array that enables intimate location-stable contact with skin.

Methods: Patients with SVO stroke were consecutively enrolled. AS was defined as a craniocervical artery with ≥ 50% stenosis caused by atherosclerosis.
Understanding how synthetic microbial community (SMC) respond to environmental disturbances is the key to realizing SMC engineering applications. Here, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and levofloxacin (LOFX) were used as environmental disturbances to study their effects on the aerobic denitrification functional stability of SMC composed of Pseudomonas aeruginosa N2 (PA), Acinetobacter baumannii N1(AC) and Aeromonas hydrophila (AH). The results showed that aerobic denitrification efficiency could be maintained at about 93 % under DBP or LOFX disturbance, and interspecific communication was mainly carried out through N-butyryl-L-homoserine lactone (C-HSL) and N-(3-oxododecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone (3OC-HSL), correspondingly.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a highly prevalent and severely disabling psychiatric disorder that decreases quality of life and imposes substantial economic burden. Acupuncture has emerged as an effective adjunctive treatment for depression, it regulates neurotransmitters involved in mood regulation and modulates the activity of specific brain regions associated with emotional processing, as evidenced by neuroimaging and biochemical studies. Despite these insights, the precise neuroplastic mechanisms through which acupuncture exerts its antidepressant effects remain not fully elucidated.

Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is an inflammatory response involving immune cells, but the relationship between immune cell traits and AUB is highly complex and still largely unclear. This study utilized genetic data from a genome-wide association study of European participants. Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis methods, including inverse variance weighted (IVW) as the primary approach, weighted median, MR Egger regression, and Mendelian randomization pleiotropy residual sum and outlier, were employed for forward and reverse analyses.

A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) nanosensor with dual-reactivity is developed for the simultaneous imaging of hypochlorite (ClO) and nitric oxide (NO) in living cells. Utilizing the specific reactions between functional molecules and ClO and NO, respectively, the 2-mercapto-4-methoxy-phenol (2-MP) and o-phenylenediamine (OPD) molecules are synchronously assembled on the surface of gold nanoparticles to fabricate the dual-function nanosensors. The advantages of SERS technology, narrow peaks for spectral multiplexing and fingerprint information, further facilitate the simultaneous detection of ClO and NO.

Though the existence of a tribovoltaic effect indeed brings up a new method for power supply of critical sensors using the Internet of Things technology, the wear and damage of tribovoltaic materials related to the surface topography during the sliding process is still nonnegligible. In this work, the influence of surface topography on the tribovoltaic effect between semiconductors is investigated by means of a lateral sliding mode triboelectric nanogenerator composed of ZnO and Si (ZnO/Si LS-TENG).

Objective: Previous research has revealed a positive correlation between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and cardiovascular diseases, but the causal relationship is unclear. This study applies Mendelian randomization to examine whether RA causally contributes to the likelihood of various cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, and atrial fibrillation.
Methods: Using genome-wide association data, we conducted a univariable MR (UVMR) analysis to evaluate the causal impact of RA on CVD, primarily utilizing the inverse variance weighted method.
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in the tumor microenvironment (TME) widely participate in the malignant progression in cancer. Previously, we have demonstrated that M1-like TAMs cascaded a stem-like phenotype of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Yet, the underlying mechanisms still need to be demonstrated for the regulation of TAMs on cancer stem cells (CSCs) in OSCC.

This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between 17 urinary metabolites of volatile organic compounds (mVOCs) in adolescents and renal function parameters (estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR), urinary albumin, serum uric acid (SUA), and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)). In adjusted generalised linear models (GLM), mVOCs were positively correlated with eGFR, urinary albumin, and BUN, and mVOCs were negatively correlated with ACR and SUA. Weighted Quartile Sum (WQS) index correlated with eGFR [β(95%CI): 0.

However, the biological effects of allosteric driver mutations during tumorigenesis are mostly unknown. Here, we mapped somatic mutations generated from 10 tumor-normal matched HNSCC samples into allosteric sites to prioritize the mutated allosteric proteins via whole-exome sequencing and AlloDriver, identifying the specific mutation H351Q in β-glucuronidase (GUSB), a lysosomal enzyme, as a novel allosteric driver mutation, which considerably encouraged HNSCC progression both in vitro and in vivo.
