Acute Myocardial Infarction Caused by Pulmonary Vein Stump Thrombosis after Thoracoscopic Left Upper Lobectomy.

Introduction: Pulmonary vein stump thrombosis can sometimes occur at the pulmonary vein stump after lung surgery, possibly causing systemic infarction. Here, we report a rare case of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) caused by pulmonary vein stump thrombosis after the left upper lobectomy.

Case Presentation: A 43-year-old male patient with a nodule in the left lingular segment was referred to our hospital.

Uniportal Thoracoscopic Bisegmentectomy of Medial and Posterior Basal Segment (S7+S10).

When a tumor is located in the medial (S7) or posterior (S10) basal segment, it is sometimes necessary to perform a bisegmentectomy of S7 and S10 (S7+S10) to achieve a sufficient surgical margin. In this report, we present surgical techniques for uniportal thoracoscopic S7+S10 bisegmentectomy. The surgical technique consists of anterior and posterior procedures to dissect the basal pulmonary vein.

Differences between lung adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in histological distribution of residual tumor after induction chemoradiotherapy.

Aims: To facilitate dose planning for convergent beam radiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), tumor response and histological distribution of residual tumors after induction chemoradiotherapy (ICRT) were compared between adenocarcinoma (AD) and squamous cell carcinoma (SQ).

Methods: Ninety-five patients with N1-2 or T3-4 NSCLC were treated with ICRT followed by surgery; 55 had AD and 40 had SQ.
