Background: While single organ metastases generally present a more optimistic prognosis compared to multiple metastases, the influence of the specific organ site for single organ metastases on prognosis remains undetermined. This retrospective study aimed to investigate the prognostic differences in late-stage gastric cancer with single organ metastasis.
Methods: Data for patients diagnosed with gastric cancer were retrieved from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database for survival analysis, covering years spanning from 2010 to 2016.
This study was conducted to investigate the differences in chemical composition between red (RGBs) and yellow ginseng berries (YGBs) and their whitening and anti-aging skincare effects. The differences in the chemical composition between RGB and YGB were analyzed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem quadrupole electrostatic field orbit trap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Exactive-MS/MS) combined with multivariate statistics. An aging model was established using UVB radiation induction, and the whitening and anti-aging effects of the two ginseng berries were verified in vitro and in vivo using cell biology (HaCaT and B16-F10 cells) and zebrafish model organisms.

However, the environmental and human health risks associated with the release of traffic-derived microplastics (MPs) into the ecosystem must also be considered. This study examined four types of soil samples collected from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau along the Gemang Highway.

To address these issues, tyrosine-derived polyetherimide, bis(3-aminopropyl)-terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane), and paraformaldehyde were used to synthesize hyperbranched benzoxazine THB-BOZs-PDMS with potent antibacterial and antibiofilm activity. The protonated amino groups of benzoxazine facilitated electrostatic interactions with negatively charged bacteria, and hydrophobic interactions disrupted the cell membrane, leading to bacteria death.

Cucumber is a typical raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs)-transporting crop. Non-coding RNAs and alternative polyadenylation (APA) play important roles in the regulation of growth process in plants.

In this study, three novel chitosan adsorbents (CMNSC-Leu, CMNSC-Pro, CMNSC-Phe) for uranium adsorption were designed on the basis of molecular level and successfully synthesized with three different amino acids (leucine, proline, phenylalanine) through amidation reaction in an aqueous environment using a sustainable green chitosan material. The uranium adsorption capacity of the three adsorbents was evaluated by batch adsorption, selectivity and recyclability studies.

The link between serum remnant cholesterol (RC) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio and NAFLD remains unclear. Therefore, we sought to clarify the relationship between the RC/HDL-C ratio and the NAFLD.

An imidacloprid colloidal gold immunochromatographic strip was developed in this work, and systematic analytical conditions were deeply investigated. The test strips were used for rapid screening of imidacloprid residues in Chinese herbal medicines. The performance of the colloidal gold test strips was investigated by using five selected Chinese herbal medicines (malt, Coix seed, lotus seed, dried ginger and honeysuckle).

We proposed a new idea of "Three-Dimensional Environmental-Friendly". A series of amino acid bis-substituted chitosan aerogels (C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4 and C-5) were prepared by ice template method and selective substitution reaction in water environment.

However, its value has been ignored, resulting in environmental pollution and resource waste. In this study, UHPLC-Q-Exactive-MS/MS liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and multivariate statistical analysis were conducted to characterize the compositional features of the repeated thermal-treated SGW.

Methods: Cross-sectional data from 4,336 children and adolescents who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Survey (NHANES) between 2011 and March 2020 were analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression was used to calculate odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI).
Introduction: Cardiovascular events resulting from volume overload are a primary cause of mortality in hemodialysis patients. Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is significantly valuable for assessing the volume status of hemodialysis (HD) patients. In this article, we explore the correlation between the volume index measured by BIA and the cardiac function index assessed by echocardiography (ECG) in HD patients.

The results demonstrated that BPP reduced the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), as well as the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, nitric oxide (NO), and reactive oxidative species (ROS) during the inflammatory damage process.

This study aims to explore the protective effects of the aqueous-ethanol extract (QE) taken from QT against ᴅ-galactose (ᴅ-gal)-induced oxidative stress damage in mice and its potential mechanisms. QE was identified as UHPLC-HRMS/MS for its chemical composition and possible bioactive substances.

Significant progress has been made in characterizing how nanoparticles affect Cd stress tolerance; however, the molecular mechanism of nZVI nanoparticles in Cd stress remains largely uncharacterized. Plants treated with nZVI and exposed to Cd had increased antioxidant capacity and reduced Cd accumulation in plant tissues.

Methods: This study reviewed the clinical characteristics and dose-volume parameters of 196 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Radiation-induced hepatic toxicity was defined as progression of the Child-Pugh score caused by intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
(SH), a wild species closely related to 'Ailsa Craig' (AC), is an important germplasm resource for modern tomato breeding. Trichomes, developed from epidermal cells, have a role in defense against insect attack, and their secretions are of non-negligible value. Here, we found that the glandular heads of type VI trichomes were clearly distinguishable between AC and SH under cryo-scanning electron microscopy, the difference indicating that SH could secrete more anti-insect metabolites than AC.
