Article Synopsis
  • - The Dabieshan tick virus (DBTV) poses a new public health threat, requiring detailed study of its distribution and the ticks that spread it, specifically the Haemaphysalis longicornis tick in Liaoning Province, China.
  • - A predictive model was established using collected data which shows that DBTV is widely distributed, with heightened risk areas in eastern China influenced by factors like elevation and land cover.
  • - The findings highlight a significant gap in monitoring and knowledge about DBTV, indicating that current efforts are insufficient and future monitoring and control measures are essential for public health safety.
