The forms of decommodification and (de)familisation measures during COVID-19: What is the impact on female's welfare?

Using the decommodification and (de)familisation framework, this paper examines the two main Social Safety Net programme during the pandemic and its effect on female welfare in Indonesia. It is argued that despite expansion of decommodification measures through unemployment benefits, females tend to benefit less because the existing labour force structure is highly dominated by males. Hence, the only way of being financially secure is to have access to Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), which means it then exposes them to greater risk of familisation.

[A Case of Advanced Breast Cancer with Hypercalcemia and No Bone Metastasis Treated with Multidisciplinary Therapy].

A 37-year-old woman presented with general malaise, anorexia, and nausea. She was hypercalcemic and had an 8-cm- diameter mass in her left breast. Histopathological diagnosis was invasive breast cancer(T3N0M1).

Treatment of dementia and mild cognitive impairment with or without cerebrovascular disease: Expert consensus on the use of Ginkgo biloba extract, EGb 761.

Background: The Ginkgo biloba special extract, EGb 761 has been widely used in the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, including Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Methods: To guide clinical practice in the Asian region, the Asian Clinical Expert Group on Neurocognitive Disorders compiled evidence-based consensus recommendations regarding the use of EGb 761 in neurocognitive disorders with/without cerebrovascular disease.

Results: Key randomized trials and robust meta-analyses have demonstrated significant improvement in cognitive function, neuropsychiatric symptoms, activities of daily living (ADL) and quality of life with EGb 761 versus placebo in patients with mild-to-moderate dementia.

Evaluation of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field Strength Using the Cosmic-Ray Shadow of the Sun.

We analyze the Sun's shadow observed with the Tibet-III air shower array and find that the shadow's center deviates northward (southward) from the optical solar disk center in the "away" ("toward") interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) sector. By comparing with numerical simulations based on the solar magnetic field model, we find that the average IMF strength in the away (toward) sector is 1.54±0.

Energy Spectrum of Cosmic-Ray Electron and Positron from 10 GeV to 3 TeV Observed with the Calorimetric Electron Telescope on the International Space Station.

First results of a cosmic-ray electron and positron spectrum from 10 GeV to 3 TeV is presented based upon observations with the CALET instrument on the International Space Station starting in October, 2015. Nearly a half million electron and positron events are included in the analysis. CALET is an all-calorimetric instrument with total vertical thickness of 30 X_{0} and a fine imaging capability designed to achieve a large proton rejection and excellent energy resolution well into the TeV energy region.

Short-term effects of goal-setting focusing on the life goal concept on subjective well-being and treatment engagement in subacute inpatients: a quasi-randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To investigate the short-term effects of the life goal concept on subjective well-being and treatment engagement, and to determine the sample size required for a larger trial.

Design: A quasi-randomized controlled trial that was not blinded.

Setting: A subacute rehabilitation ward.

Effects of galvanic vestibular stimulation combined with physical therapy on pusher behavior in stroke patients: a case series.

Background: A recent study investigated the effects of galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) on pusher behavior (PB) in post-stroke patients. However, there have been no reports about the effects of multisession GVS on PB.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility and effects of multisession GVS combined with physical therapy for PB in stroke patients.

Probe of the solar magnetic field using the "cosmic-ray shadow" of the sun.

We report on a clear solar-cycle variation of the Sun’s shadow in the 10 TeV cosmic-ray flux observed by the Tibet air shower array during a full solar cycle from 1996 to 2009. In order to clarify the physical implications of the observed solar cycle variation, we develop numerical simulations of the Sun’s shadow, using the potential field source surface model and the current sheet source surface (CSSS) model for the coronal magnetic field. We find that the intensity deficit in the simulated Sun’s shadow is very sensitive to the coronal magnetic field structure, and the observed variation of the Sun’s shadow is better reproduced by the CSSS model.

Evaluation of a practical training program for drug information services for fifth-year pharmacy students in a hospital.

Drug information (DI) services is an essential resource for pharmacists to provide counseling to patients and guide appropriate medication use. We devised a DI practical training course that incorporated an inquiry-based practical training program and evaluated its effectiveness. A total of 91 fifth-year students in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Fukuoka University took part in the following DI sessions based on specific behavioral objectives (SBOs) for DI in the Model Core Curriculum for Practical Training: inquiry practice, simulated pharmacy and therapeutics committee, DI newsletter, use of emergency and safety information, off-label use in clinical trials, PRE-AVOID (Be prepared to avoid the adverse drug reactions), adverse drug reactions, and small group discussions about drug poisoning.

Anisotropy and corotation of galactic cosmic rays.

The intensity of Galactic cosmic rays is nearly isotropic because of the influence of magnetic fields in the Milky Way. Here, we present two-dimensional high-precision anisotropy measurement for energies from a few to several hundred teraelectronvolts (TeV), using the large data sample of the Tibet Air Shower Arrays. Besides revealing finer details of the known anisotropies, a new component of Galactic cosmic ray anisotropy in sidereal time is uncovered around the Cygnus region direction.

Leaf senescence under various gravity conditions: relevance to the dynamics of plant hormones.

Effects of simulated microgravity and hypergravity on the senescence of oat leaf segments excised from the primary leaves of 8-d-old green seedlings were studied using a 3-dimensional (D) clinostat as a simulator of weightlessness and a centrifuge, respectively. During the incubation with water under 1-g conditions at 25 degrees C in the dark, the loss of chlorophyll of the segments was found dramatically immediately after leaf excision, and leaf color completely turned to yellow after 3-d to 4-d incubation. In this case kinetin (10 micromolar) was effective in retarding senescence.

STS-95 space experiment for plant growth and development, and auxin polar transport.

The principal objective of the space experiment, BRIC-AUX on STS-95, was the integrated analysis of the growth and development of etiolated pea and maize seedlings in space, and the effect of microgravity conditions in space on auxin polar transport in the segments. Microgravity conditions in space strongly affected the growth and development of etiolated pea and maize seedlings. Etiolated pea and maize seedlings were leaned and curved during space flight, respectively.

The principal objectives of the space experiment, BRIC-AUX on STS 95, were the integrated analysis of the growth and development of etiolated pea and maize seedlings in space and a study of the effects of microgravity conditions in space on auxin polar transport in these segments. Microgravity significantly affected the growth and development of etiolated pea and maize seedlings. Epicotyls of etiolated pea seedlings were the most oriented toward about 40 to 60 degrees from the vertical.

Surgical repair of a solitary deep femoral arterial aneurysm: report of two cases.

We report herein two cases of a solitary deep femoral arterial aneurysm that were successfully treated by aneurysmectomy and ligation of the deep femoral artery. The patients were a 69-year-old man and a 73-year-old man, both of whom presented with localized pain and a pulsatile mass in the femoral area showing rapid enlargement. Ultrasonography and arteriography confirmed the diagnosis and revealed no evidence of aneurysm or occlusive disease in the other arteries.

[Traumatic cardiac tamponade due to the nail stabbing].

A 45-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of mild chest pain. The stab wound on the chest was very small and the nail had been completely buried under the skin. Emergency operation was mandatory for cardiac tamponade by the nail stabbing.

Observation of Multi-TeV Gamma Rays from the Crab Nebula using the Tibet Air Shower Array.

The Tibet experiment, operating at Yangbajing (4300 m above sea level), is the lowest energy air shower array, and the new high-density array constructed in 1996 is sensitive to gamma-ray air showers at energies as low as 3 TeV. With this new array, the Crab Nebula was observed in multi-TeV gamma-rays and a signal was detected at the 5.5 sigma level.

Pedicle transposition of the greater omentum for sternal osteomyelitis and mediastinitis after cardiac operation.

Three patients underwent pedicle transposition of the greater omentum for sternal osteomyelitis and mediastinitis after cardiac operation. These patients were previously operated on with coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement and redo Fontan operation in each. This procedure was carried out on 4, 6, 8, and 14th postoperative day.

[Acute ventricular septal perforation in a patient with autoimmune hemolytic anemia].

A 71-year-old woman with autoimmune hemolytic anemia underwent an emergency endocardial patch repair for ventricular septal perforation after acute myocardial infarction. Use of washed red blood cells was effective in averting hemolytic crisis throughout perioperative period. In spite of improvement of her hemodynamics, liver dysfunction which had been present preoperatively deteriorated after the operation.

[A surgical case of aortic valve stenosis associated with systemic lupus erythematosus].

A 46-year-old woman was hospitalized for aortic valve stenosis (AS) associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) on April 12, 1996. She had a syncopal episode six months before admission. She was found to have thrombocytopenia, and was diagnosed with SLE by further examination.

[Retrieval of intravascular catheter fragment remaining for 15 years--a case report].

A 66-year-old woman was operated on aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and tricuspid annuloplasty. Retrieval of remaining Swan-Ganz Thermodilution catheter in the superior vena cava and the right atrium for 15 years was also made. Fortunately, contamination and embolism have not occurred for 15 years.

[Perforation and localized dissection of the left common iliac artery during the modified Bentall procedure: a case report].

We performed the modified Bentall procedure for annuloaortic ectasia in a 41-year-old man with Marfan's syndrome. Approximately 15 minutes after initiation of cardiopulmonary bypass with an arterial delivery via the left common femoral artery, perfusion volume gradually decreased and the abdomen of the patient was distended. Retrograde dissection was strongly suggested.
