Background: Axial symptoms (AS) represent one of the primary complications after cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) surgery. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), as a complementary and alternative therapy, is widely used in the treatment of postoperative AS in CSM. However, it lacks standardised treatment protocols, uniform therapeutic criteria, assessment methods and a sufficiently in-depth understanding of its mechanisms of action.

Article Synopsis
  • * Research identified mitochondrial ribosomal protein L41 (MRPL41) as a key target affected by Acu, showing increased expression during stroke conditions and decreased levels after Acu treatment.
  • * Silencing MRPL41 enhanced cell survival by promoting anti-apoptotic proteins and reducing pro-apoptotic signals, leading to improved neurological outcomes and reduced brain damage in experimental models of ischemic stroke.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a common primary malignant bone tumor, and it is necessary to further investigate the molecular mechanism of OS progression. The expression of kinetochore associated protein 1 (KNTC1) and minichromosome maintenance 2 (MCM2) was detected by immunohistochemistry, quantitative PCR (qPCR) and Western blot. Gene knockdown or overexpression cell models were constructed and the proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle and migration were detected in vitro, besides, xenograft models were established to explore the effects of KNTC1 downregulation in vivo.

Post-traumatic brain injury cognitive disorder(PTBICD) is one of the common symptoms of TBI survivors, severely limiting their life and rehabilitation progress. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been shown to modulate cognition in a non-invasive manner while there are inconsistencies in previous studies. A comprehensive systematic review of rTMS treatment in patients with PTBICD is warranted.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic non-specific inflammatory disease of intestinal tract and a common digestive system disease. Current studies have shown that IBD significantly increases the incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC), and is positively correlated with the degree and extent of inflammation of IBD. The relationship between IBD and CRC has attracted extensive attention.
