Sustainable batteries are key for powering electronic devices of the future, with aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) standing out for their use of abundant, readily available elements, and safer production processes. Among the various electrode materials studied for AZIBs, the Chevrel Phase, MoS has shown promise due to its open framework, but issues with zinc ion trapping have limited its practical application. In this work, we employed computational methods to investigate the insertion-deinsertion mechanism in a series of isostructural MoSSe ( = 0-8) solid solutions as materials that could balance the gravimetric capacity and reversible cycling for AZIBs.

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolyzers are critical enablers for sustainable green hydrogen production due to their high efficiency. However, nonplatinum catalysts are rarely evaluated under actual electrolyzer operating conditions, limiting knowledge of their feasibility for H production at scale. In this work, metallic 1T'-MoTe films were synthesized on carbon cloth supports via chemical vapor deposition and tested as cathodes in PEM electrolysis.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the impact of low-energy femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) on the cumulative dispersed energy (CDE) used during surgery, especially compared to conventional phacoemulsification surgery (CPS), focusing on different cataract densities.
  • A total of 629 eyes were analyzed, grouped by cataract density, and results showed that while overall CDE was similar between the two methods, low-energy FLACS significantly reduced CDE in harder cataracts.
  • The findings suggest that low-energy FLACS offers lower energy consumption and protects the corneal endothelium in cases of harder cataracts, making it a favorable option regardless of surgeon experience.

Lithium is thought to be an excellent anode material for next-generation Li metal batteries (LMBs). However, some problems with lithium anodes often lead to serious safety concerns and catastrophic failures due to the huge volume change, Li dendritic growth, and related side reactions. Therefore, in order to manufacture stable rechargeable batteries, the abovementioned serious problems must be effectively solved.

Topical atropine has become a mainstream treatment of myopia throughout East and Southeast Asia, but it is uncertain whether long-term topical atropine therapy induces intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation and subsequent development of glaucoma. We then prospectively examined the effects of long-term atropine treatment on IOP.Our case series collected 186 myopic children who were younger than 16 years of age.

Conversion of syngas (CO, H ) to hydrocarbons, commonly known as the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis, represents a fundamental pillar in today's chemical industry and is typically carried out under technically demanding conditions (1-3 MPa, 300-400 °C). Photocatalysis using sunlight offers an alternative and potentially more sustainable approach for the transformation of small molecules (H O, CO, CO , N , etc.) to high-valuable products, including hydrocarbons.

Objective: To investigate whether acid suppression therapy influences the absorption of bismuth from colloidal bismuth pectin (CBP).

Methods: 48 male SD rats were randomly divided into five groups to be administer with different medicines once a day for 14 days: group A1 (administered with CBP only and killed on the cessation day of administration), group B1 (administered with CBP only and killed 8 weeks after the cessation of administration), group A2 [administered with CBP + amoxicillin (AMO) + metronidazole (MTR) + losec and killed on the cessation day of administration], group B2 (administered with CBP + AMO + MTR + losec and killed 8 weeks after the cessation of administration), and control group (administered with distilled water). The kidney issue sections were counterstained after AMG development.
