Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the impact of gender on the development of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) after an acute pulmonary embolism (PE).
  • A total of 11 studies involving 5,788 PE cases and 391 CTEPH patients were analyzed, showing no significant difference in incidence rates between males and females (P = .28).
  • The findings suggest that gender does not serve as a risk factor for CTEPH, highlighting the importance of evaluating potential complications in all patients regardless of gender for better treatment outcomes.
