Vitamin E derivatives are particularly effective in chemotherapy drug development because they are nontoxic, biocompatible, and selective. Among them, α-tocopheryl succinate (α-TOS) can act synergistically with some chemotherapeutic agents. However, its hydrophobicity limits its systemic administration, and localized formulations are not available.
