Drug repurposing offers a valuable strategy for identifying new therapeutic applications for existing drugs. Recently, disulfiram (DSF), a drug primarily used for alcohol addiction treatment, has emerged as a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases by inhibiting pyroptosis, a form of programmed cell death. The therapeutic activity of DSF can be further enhanced by the presence of Cu, although the underlying mechanism of this enhancement remains unclear.

Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) often need to have various catheters placed on their bodies due to their severe condition. In order to prevent the occurrence of unplanned extubation, patients' hands should be restrained appropriately. The current restraint gloves used in clinical practice have problems such as improper restraint, easy falling off of oxygen saturation monitoring probes, and pressure injury of hands.

A terrain treadmill to study animal locomotion through large obstacles.

A challenge to understanding locomotion in complex three-dimensional terrain with large obstacles is to create tools for controlled, systematic experiments. Recent terrain arenas allow observations at small spatiotemporal scales (∼10 body lengths or cycles). Here, we created a terrain treadmill to enable high-resolution observation of animal locomotion through large obstacles over large spatiotemporal scales.

Smart Skin: Vision-Based Soft Pressure Sensing System for In-Home Hand Rehabilitation.

We introduce a novel in-home hand rehabilitation system for monitoring hand motions and assessing grip forces of stroke patients. The overall system is composed of a sensing device and a computer vision system. The sensing device is a lightweight cylindrical object for easy grip and manipulation, which is covered by a passive sensing layer called "Smart Skin.
