Controllable hydrogenation of carbonyl groups (C=O) is crucial for converting furfural into high-value furfuryl alcohol. Instead of traditional impregnation method, a novel Cu-based catalyst (Cu/SiO) is prepared using the ammonia evaporation method (AE) for the efficient hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol under mild conditions. At the reaction conditions of 90 °C and 1 MPa H, the 5Cu/SiO-AE sample showed optimal performance with higher turnover frequency (36.

A micro-nano sharkskin like film (Cu-MNS-FA) was synthesized on copper surface through chemical etching followed by formate passivation, and its anticorrosive, antibacterial and thermal conductivity properties were investigated. Results show that after 7 d of exposure to nature, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Desulfovibrio vulgaris seawater, the charge transfer resistance of Cu-MNS-FA is more than three times higher than that of unmodified copper. In particular, in D.

Short video addiction (SVA) has emerged as a growing behavioral and social issue, driven by the widespread use of digital platforms that provide highly engaging, personalized, and brief video content. We investigated the neuroanatomical and functional substrates of SVA symptoms, alongside brain transcriptomic and cellular characteristics, using Inter-Subject Representational Similarity Analysis (IS-RSA) and transcriptomic approaches. Behaviorally, we found that dispositional envy was associated with SVA.

Chiral discrimination is an indispensable tool that has pivotal importance in the assignment of absolute configuration and determination of enantiomeric excess in chiral compounds. A series of enantiomerically pure -1,2-diaminocyclohexane (-DACH)-derived benzamides were first synthesized by simple chemical steps, and 14 variated derivatives have been assessed as NMR chiral solvating agents (CSAs) for discrimination of the signals of mandelic acid (MA) in H NMR analysis. The highly efficient chiral recognition of CSA on different substrates, including MAs, carboxylic acids, amino acid derivatives, and phosphoric acids (32 examples), was expanded via H, F, and P NMR spectroscopy.

Wireless energy-responsive systems provide a foundational platform for powering and operating intelligent devices. However, current electronic systems relying on complex components limit their effective deployment in ambient environment and seamless integration of energy harvesting, storage, sensing, and communication. Here, we disclose a coupling effect of electromagnetic wave absorption and moist-enabled generation on carrier transportation and energy interaction regulated by ionic diode effect.

Objectives: To investigate the correlation of serum levels of bridging integrating factor 1 (BIN1) with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and Killip class of the patients.

Methods: We retrospectively collected the data from 94 patients with AMI and 30 healthy individuals for analysis of the correlations of serum BIN1 levels with Killip class, TIMI scores, and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). We also assessed the diagnostic value of BIN1 combined with NLR for AMI.

  • Remimazolam is a benzodiazepine sedative used mainly for general anesthesia and outpatient procedures, but few studies have looked at its effects on elderly patients specifically receiving regional nerve block anesthesia.
  • This study aimed to evaluate how different doses of remimazolam affect loss of consciousness time, maintenance time, and ventilator needs in patients aged 65 and older under this type of anesthesia.
  • Conducted at a university hospital with 80 participants divided into five dosage groups, the research assessed various physiological responses and consciousness metrics at multiple time points after administration, but found no significant differences between groups.

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a valuable steroid drug with widespread clinical applications, but traditional chemical synthesis is environmentally harmful and requires complex reaction conditions. This study introduces a one-step microbial transformation method for the production of DHT from inexpensive phytosterols (PS) using engineered Mycolicibacterium neoaurum (MNR). The heterologous expression of 5α-reductase (5α-R) and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (17β-HSD) in MNR enabled the efficient conversion of PS to DHT.

To remove antibiotics from milk effectively, molecularly imprinted AgPO/TiO photocatalysts (MAT) were prepared using sulfamethazine (SMZ) as a template and butyl titanate as a functional monomer. Molecularly imprinted AgPO/TiO films (MATs) were constructed using quartz glass tubes as the carrier. The morphology and structure of MAT, the properties and mechanism of degradation of SMZ by MATs, and the nutrition and safety of milk were evaluated.

The imperative advance towards achieving "carbon neutrality" necessitates the development of porous structures possessing dual acoustic and mechanical properties in order to mitigate energy consumption. Nevertheless, enhancing various functionalities often leads to an increase in the structural weight, which limits the feasibility of using such structures in weight-sensitive applications. In accordance with the outlined specifications, a novel structural design incorporating carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites alongside mechanical and acoustic metamaterials has been introduced for the first time.

Background: Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are recently a rapidly increasing of interest as non-invasive biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Previous studies revealed that several miRNAs exhibited the capacity for diagnosis and prognosis of AMI, the reasons why these circulating miRNAs are concerned as targets for investigation are quite cryptogenic, presumably due to the lack of clues provided by global surveillance at the transcriptome level, and the current data for some miRNAs are controversial and inconsistent among independent studies.

Methods: To comprehensively profiling the potential miRNAs for diagnosis and prognosis of AMI, we reported transcriptomes of circulating miRNAs in the plasma of 27 healthy controls, 64 AMI patients (37 STEMI and 27 NSTEMI) and 20 AMI patients who were subjected to reperfusion therapy.

Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) holds transformative potential for research and clinical applications in neuroscience due to its non-invasive nature and adaptability to real-world settings. However, despite its promise, fNIRS signal quality is sensitive to individual differences in biophysical factors such as hair and skin characteristics, which can significantly impact the absorption and scattering of near-infrared light. If not properly addressed, these factors risk biasing fNIRS research by disproportionately affecting signal quality across diverse populations.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in activated sludge include intracellular ARGs (iARGs) and extracellular ARGs (eARGs), both of which are recognized as emerging pollutants. While the activated sludge process has been commonly considered for treating wastewater contaminated with radionuclide, the effects and mechanisms of radioactive heavy metals on the fate of iARGs and eARGs (i/e-ARGs) in activated sludge are largely elusive. Here, the distribution, mobility, and hosts of i/e-ARGs in activated sludge during environmental concentrations (50 μg/L and 5000 μg/L) of radioactive uranium (U) stress were explored via metagenomics.

However, the impacts and potential mechanisms of NPs on the fate of ARGs in activated sludge are not fully understood. Herein, we used metagenomic approach to investigate the responses of ARGs, host bacteria, mobile genetic elements (MGEs), and functional genes to polystyrene (PS) NPs at environmentally relevant (0.

Eliminating persistent inflammation and choosing dressings that provide the best healing environment is key to promoting wound healing. Dynamic and reversible hydrogels have attracted much attention because of their capacity to adapt to irregular wound surfaces. Herein, oxidized hydroxyethyl starch (OHES) and hyaluronic acid (HA-ADH) were crosslinked via the dynamic acylhydrazone bond to form an anti-inflammatory function hydrogel (HA-ADH/OHES@XT) that could release xanthatin (XT) slowly.
