SARS-CoV-2 continues to mutate, spread, and impact public health and daily life. The main protease (M) is essential for the replication and maturation of SARS-CoV-2, making it an ideal target for anti-coronaviral drug discovery and development due to its high conservation and lack of homologous proteases in humans. Herein, we designed and synthesized a series of dithiocarbamate derivatives as potent SARS-CoV-2 M inhibitors.

Nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs) have emerged as a vital cornerstone of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimens, owing to their unique antiviral activity, low toxicity and high specificity. Diarylpyrimidines (DAPYs) as the second generation NNRTIs, represented by etravirine and rilpivirine, have attracted extensive attention due to their high anti-HIV potency. However, rapid emergence of resistant mutations, suboptimal pharmacokinetics (PK), and toxicity remain significant challenges.

Radiotherapy demonstrates a synergistic effect with immunotherapy by inducing a transformation of "immune cold" tumors into "immune hot" tumors in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Nevertheless, the effectiveness of immunotherapy is constrained by low expression of tumor-exposed antigens, inadequate inflammation, and insufficient tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TILs). To address this predicament, novel lutecium-based rare earth nanoparticles (RENPs) are synthesized with the aim of amplifying radiation effect and tumor immune response.

Background: Oral immunotherapy (OIT) is a promising allergen-specific approach in the management of food allergy; however, studies on OIT for allergic rhinitis (AR) have rarely been reported. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of OIT using enteric-coated capsules for AR induced by house dust mites.

Methods: A total of 49 patients with AR were enrolled, including 25 who received subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) and 24 who received OIT.

Recent interest has surged in using heterogeneous carriers to boost synergistic photocatalysis for organic transformations. Heterogeneous catalysts not only facilitate synergistic enhancement of distinct catalytic centers compared to their homogeneous counterparts, but also allow for the easy recovery and reuse of catalysts. This mini-review summarizes recent advancements in developing heterogeneous carriers, including metal-organic frameworks, covalent-organic frameworks, porous organic polymers, and others, for synergistic catalytic reactions.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose a threat to global health, and sounds the alarm for research & development of effective anti-coronavirus drugs, which are crucial for the patients and urgently needed for the current epidemic and future crisis. The main protease (M) stands as an essential enzyme in the maturation process of SARS-CoV-2, playing an irreplaceable role in regulating viral RNA replication and transcription. It has emerged as an ideal target for developing antiviral agents against SARS-CoV-2 due to its high conservation and the absence of homologous proteases in the human body.

Background And Aims: The potential of urinary-derived extracellular vesicle (uEV) microRNAs (miRNAs) as noninvasive molecular biomarkers for identifying early-stage renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients is rarely explored. The present study aims to explore the possibility of uEV miRNAs as novel molecular biomarkers for distinguishing early-stage RCC.

Materials And Methods: uEVs were extracted by ExoQuick-TC™ kit and miRNA concentrations were measured by RT-qPCR.

From January 31 to February 20, 2015 to 2022, the spatio-temporal characteristics of the PM pollution evolution of 44 cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and its surrounding areas were analyzed. The contribution of simultaneous meteorology, coordinated emission reduction, and cross-regional transmission to PM concentration and chemical component changes were quantified, respectively, with the aim to provide scientific reference for regional air quality joint prevention and control under adverse meteorological conditions. The results showed that the mean value of PM concentration of 44 cities in 2022 was the lowest(46 μg·m) without heavy pollution in the same period of the lunar calendar since 2015, whereas the proportion of days with good air quality was the highest(83.

Background: Durable responses to immune-checkpoint blocking therapy (ICT) targeting programmed cell death protein-1/ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) have improved outcomes for patients with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Unfortunately, only 19-23% of patients benefit from ICT. Hence, non-invasive strategies evaluating responses to therapy and selecting patients who will benefit from ICT are critical issues for TNBC immunotherapy.

Porous organic polymers (POPs) have emerged as a novel class of porous materials that are synthesized by the polymerization of various organic monomers with different geometries and topologies. The molecular tunability of organic building blocks allows the incorporation of functional units for photocatalytic organic transformations. Here, we report the synthesis of two POP-based photocatalysts via homopolymerization of vinyl-functionalized diaryl dihydrophenazine (DADHP) monomer (POP1) and copolymerization of vinyl-functionalized DADHP and 2,2'-bipyridine monomers (POP2).

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of plerixafor combined with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in mobilizing peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cells in patients with lymphoma.

Methods: The clinical data of lymphoma patients who received autologous hematopoietic stem cell mobilization using plerixafor combined with G-CSF from January 2019 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients received 3 kinds of mobilization regimens: front-line steady-state mobilization, preemptive intervention, and recuse mobilization.

Unlabelled: Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy plays a critical role in axillary staging of breast cancer. However, traditional SLN mapping does not accurately discern the presence or absence of metastatic disease. Detection of SLN metastasis largely hinges on examination of frozen sections or paraffin-embedded tissues post-SLN biopsy.

Background: Helsmoortel-van der Aa syndrome, also known as syndrome, is a condition that causes developmental delay, language impairment, autism spectrum, and variable extraneurologic features. It is caused by heterozygous mutations in the gene on chromosome 20q13. Most of the genetic causes of Helsmoortel-van der Aa syndrome have been reported are as nonsense or frameshift stop mutations in exon 5 of gene, while fewer truncating variants were discovered in exons 4 and the 5' end of exon 5.

Immobilizing organocatalyst onto helical polymers not only facilitates the catalyst recycling from homogeneous reactions, but also boosts enantioselectivity. In this work, achiral organoiodine-functionalized single left- and right-handed helical polyisocyanides were prepared from the same monomers, which catalyzed three asymmetric oxidations gave the desired products in high yields and excellent enantioselectivity. The enantiomeric excess of the target products was up to 95%.

Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) is the predominant treatment approach for initial breast cancer. However, due to a lack of effective methods evaluating BCS margins, local recurrence caused by positive margins remains an issue. Accordingly, radiation therapy (RT) is a common modality in patients with advanced breast cancer.

This work reports the development of a multifunctional thermosensitive liposomal nanoplatform (PcS@Lip-FA) based on a metal-free phthalocyanine modified with tetra-sulfonates (PcPS), which exhibited photodynamic and photothermal activities simultaneously. Upon irradiation with a near infrared laser, thermosensitive PcS@Lip-FA could release PcS as a result of the local hyperthermia of PcS. Interestingly, PcS could easily chelate with Cu, leading to the enhancement of photothermal activity and decrease of photodynamic activity.
