Background: The functions of the ELOVLs are mainly involved in the elongation of saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, thus influencing the metabolism of fatty acids. Abnormal lipid metabolism may result in NAFLD and NASH, which may lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer. These results suggest that ELOVLs-mediated metabolism might be involved in the development of HCC.

The coordination environment of the Mn(II) atom is a distorted MnN₂O₄ octa-hedron defined by two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline, two water O atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two acrylate anions. The bis-monodentate coordination mode of the anion leads to the formation of chains propagating in [010].
