Decellularization has emerged as a potential solution for tracheal replacement. As a fully decellularized graft failed to achieve its purposes, the de-epithelialization partial decellularization protocol appeared to be a promising approach for fabricating scaffolds with preserved mechanical properties and few immune rejection responses after transplantation. Nevertheless, a lack of appropriate concurrent epithelialization treatment can lead to luminal stenosis of the transplant and impede its eventual success.

Partial decellularization was performed using a combination of detergent and sonication to completely remove the epithelial layers outside of the cartilage ring. The post-decellularized tracheal segments were assessed with vital staining, which showed that the core cartilage cells remarkably remained intact while the cells outside of the cartilage were no longer viable.

Missense SNPs are key factors contributing towards many Mendelian disorders and complex diseases. Identifying whether a single amino acid substitution will lead to pathological effects is important for interpreting personal genome and for precision medicine. In this study, we describe a novel method for predicting whether a missense SNP likely brings about pathological effects.

Resistive switching and carrier conduction inside RRAM films have become critical issues in recent years. Electron trapping/detrapping behavior is observed and investigated in the proposed contact resistive random access memory (CR-RAM) cell.

To infer protein function by matching local surface patterns, an effective scoring matrix for evaluating surface similarity is critical. In this study, we develop an evolution model of binding surfaces using a continuous time Markov process. We develop a Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo method to estimate the substitution rates of amino acid residues with specialized move sets.
