Background: Pericardiectomy is the curative treatment for constrictive pericarditis, yet postoperative low cardiac output syndrome (LCOS) may occur. The application of venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO) in post-pericardiectomy refractory LCOS has limited case reports, and its effectiveness and safety remain unclear. This study aims to provide evidence for the effectiveness of ECMO in treating post-pericardiectomy refractory LCOS.

This study aimed to assess the impact of diminished pulsatile flow induced by veno-arterial ECMO (V-A ECMO) on kidney structure and function. Ten healthy sheep were divided into two groups (n=5 each) to compare diminished pulsatile flow induced by V-A ECMO with normal pulsatile flow under veno-venous ECMO (V-V ECMO) over 7 days.

This study aimed to compare the impact of hydroxyethyl starch (HES) and succinylated gelatin on postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI).
Methods: This is a single-center, retrospective study.
Background: The optimal temperature control strategy in extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) patients is unknown, and several trials have reported conflicting results regarding its effectiveness. We aimed to conduct a systemic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) to assess the efficacy of temperature control in ECPR patients.
Methods: Database searching of studies reporting data on temperature control strategy during ECPR in MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, and Cochrane Library was performed.
Herein, Cu-foam-supported CuO nanowire arrays covered with CuS nanosheet substrates (Cu/CuO/CuS) are adopted as efficient photoelectrodes for photorechargeable lithium-ion batteries (PR-LIBs). The assembled PR-LIB exhibits remarkable solar energy conversion efficiency alongside superior lithium storage capabilities. Without an electrical power supply, the photocharged PR-LIB sustained a discharge process for 63.

Deep soil drying is a physical soil phenomenon that has become increasingly characteristic to artificial afforestation on China's Loess Plateau. Current research is largely short of conclusive reports on soil moisture recovery following deep soil drying in afforested lands. In this study, a 10-m deep underground column was constructed at Pengyang Experimental Station in Ningxia.

Objectives: The FUWAI-SAVE system is a modified low-priming cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) system. The study aimed to explore whether the FUWAI-SAVE system can reduce the perioperative blood transfusion and its impact on other postoperative complications during cardiac surgery.
Metohds: This study was a single-center, single-blind, randomized controlled trial, registered at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (identifier: ChiCTR2100050488).

Background: Breast cancer (BC) metastasis is the common cause of high mortality. Conventional prognostic criteria cannot accurately predict the BC metastasis risk. The machine learning technologies can overcome the disadvantage of conventional models.

Previously reported N-tethered Ru-carbene complexes all suffered from rapid isomerization, causing significantly reduced catalyst reactivity. These new TA-Ru complexes hold the active -dichloro conformation even at 80 °C, allowing effective olefin metathesis for challenging substrates.

We investigated the prognostic value of a novel score system combining leucocyte and platelet counts (COL-P) scores for in-hospital and long-term adverse outcomes.
Design: This was a retrospective cohort study of patients with STEMI.
Herein, we reported an intermolecular asymmetric hydrative aldol reaction through vinyl-gold intermediate under ambient conditions. This tandem alkyne hydration and sequential nucleophilic addition afforded a "base-free" approach to β-hydroxy amides with high efficiency (up to 95 % yields, >50 examples). Vinyl gold intermediate was applied as reactive nucleophile and Fe(acac) was used as the critical co-catalyst to prevent undesired protodeauration, allowing this transformation to proceed under mild conditions with good functional group tolerance and excellent stereoselectivity (>20 : 1 d.

PCL is dissolved in oil and chitosan and lignin nanoparticles originate in water. The continuous phase of the emulsions is gelled by cross-linking of chitosan with genipin and then freeze-dried to obtain porous scaffolds.

However, molecular mechanisms leading to DHCA-related cerebral injury are still ill-defined. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of covalently closed non-coding RNAs and can play important roles in different types of cerebral injury.

Macrophages are the foremost controllers of innate and acquired immunity, playing important roles in tissue homeostasis, vasculogenesis, and congenital metabolism. In vitro macrophages are crucial models for understanding the regulatory mechanism of immune responses and the diagnosis or treatment of a variety of diseases. Pigs are the most important agricultural animals and valuable animal models for preclinical studies, but there is no unified method for porcine macrophage isolation and differentiation at present; no systematic study has compared porcine macrophages obtained by different methods.

Methods: Patients with and without AKI 3 were divided into two groups. Potential risk factors for developing AKI 3 were evaluated by univariate logistic regression analysis.
The study aims to validate the Chinese version of Personal Accountability Measure (PAM-Ch), which is used to assess the subjective aspect of teacher accountability, by surveying 1146 teachers enrolled in professional development courses offered by a public university in Beijing. The validation process involved two phases. First, the samples were randomly divided into three subgroups-for subgroup 1 ( = 390), exploratory factor analysis was computed; for subgroup 2 ( = 359), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was computed; and, for subgroup 3 ( = 381), a new CFA was performed for cross-validation.
