Snf2 family proteins are the crucial subunits of chromatin-remodeling complexes (CRCs), which contributes to the biological processes of transcription, replication, and DNA repair using ATP as energy. Some CRC subunits have been confirmed to be the critical regulators in various aspects of plant growth and development and in epigenetic mechanisms such as histone modification, DNA methylation, and histone variants. However, the functions of Snf2 family genes in rice were poorly investigated.

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that is caused by respiratory infections, principally . Increasingly, studies have shown that circular (circ)RNAs play regulatory roles in different diseases through different mechanisms. However, their roles and potential regulatory mechanisms in pulmonary TB remain unclear.

Article Synopsis
  • The genome of American lotus (Nelumbo lutea) was sequenced and organized into eight pseudochromosomes, containing over 31,000 protein-coding genes, revealing structural variants and conserved gene arrangements compared to Asian lotus (Nelumbo nucifera).
  • Differences in petal colors between the two species are due to carotenoid and anthocyanin pigments, with structural genes conserved but differing in their expression patterns.
  • The study highlights the role of thermogenesis in flower development and suggests significant genetic divergence and independent domestication events impacting traits like seed and flower characteristics in both lotus species.

Exosomes are important mediators of intercellular communication and participate in complex biological processes by transferring a variety of bioactive molecules between cells. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a process in which the cell phenotype changes from epithelioid to mesenchymal-like. EMT is also an important process for cancer cells by which they acquire invasive and metastatic capabilities, which aggravates the degree of tumor malignancy.

Aim: This study aimed to establish a highly sensitive time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay (TRFIA) for the detection of serum lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) and evaluate the clinical application value of Lp-PLA2 in patients with breast cancer.

Methods: The level of Lp-PLA2 was detected using the double-antibody sandwich method. First, the Lp-PLA2-TRFIA method was established, and the method was evaluated on the basis of linearity, sensitivity, precision, specificity, and recovery rate.

In this study, dynamic variations in physicochemical characteristics of polysaccharides from Wuyi rock' tea (WYP) at different simulated digestion and fecal fermentation stages were studied. Results revealed that physicochemical characteristics of WYP were slightly altered after the simulated digestion , and its digestibility was about 8.38%.

JASMONATE ZIM-DOMAIN (JAZ) proteins are negative regulators of the jasmonate (JA)-signaling pathway and play pivotal roles in plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. Genome-wide identification of JAZ genes has been performed in many plant species. However, systematic information about pineapple ( L.

Background: Cell polarity establishment and maintenance is indispensable for plant growth and development. In plants, the YABBY transcription factor family has a distinct role in leaf asymmetric polarity establishment and lateral organ initiation. However, for the important sugar crop Saccharum, little information on YABBY genes is available.

The screening of compound-protein interactions (CPIs) is one of the most crucial steps in finding hit and lead compounds. Deep learning (DL) methods for CPI prediction can address intrinsic limitations of traditional HTS and virtual screening with the advantage of low cost and high efficiency. This review provides a comprehensive survey of DL-based CPI prediction.

Introduction: Post-stroke fatigue (PSF) is an abnormal, persistent, and unexplained physical and psychological tiredness in patients after stroke. It is a common symptom of stroke patients with poor quality of life and bleak prognosis, and the incidence rate is up to 39% to 72%. It has been widely reported that medicine treatments achieved a lot of progress, there still needs to develop more powerful new strategies to more powerful effect.

In living organisms, sexual reproduction relies on the successful development of the gametes. Flowering plants produce gametes in the specialized organs of the flower, the gametophytes. The female gametophyte (FG), a multicellular structure containing female gametes (egg cell and central cell), is often referred to as an embryo sac.

Initial geostress has great influence on the properties of gneiss. The physical and mechanical properties of gneiss vary considerably due to different initial geostresses, which exert a huge effect on the stability of underground engineering. In order to explore the influence of initial ground stress on the properties of gneiss.

China has achieved universal social health insurance coverage, but it is unclear whether this has alleviated the economic burden of disease for individuals. This was investigated in the present study by analyzing National Health Service Survey (2008-2018) data from Jiangsu province. Ordinary least squares and binary multivariate logistic regression of pooled cross-sectional data were carried out to evaluate the effect of universal health insurance coverage and other socioeconomic factors on the economic burden of disease.

Unlike in humans and animals, plant germlines are specified de novo from somatic cells in the reproductive organs of the flower. In most flowering plant ovules, the female germline starts with the differentiation of one megaspore mother cell (MMC), which initiates a developmental program distinct from adjoining cells. Phytohormones act as a key player in physiological processes during plant development, in particular by providing positional information that supports localized differentiation events.

Background: In plants, a critical balance between differentiation and proliferation of stem cells at the shoot apical meristem zone is essential for proper growth. The spatiotemporal regulation of some crucial genes dictates the formation of a boundary within and around budding organs. The boundary plays a pivotal role in distinguishing one tissue type from another and provides a defined shape to the organs at their developed stage.

Methazolamide (MTZ), a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, has been shown to inhibit cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and exert a hypoglycemic effect in patients with type 2 diabetes and diabetic db/db mice. However, whether MTZ has a cardioprotective effect in the setting of diabetic cardiomyopathy is not clear. We investigated the effects of MTZ in a mouse model of streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).

The aim of this study was to establish a time-resolved fluorescent immunoassay (TRFIA) for the detection of serum Galectin-3 (Gal-3) and apply this method to evaluate the clinical significance of serum Gal-3 in predicting Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy (IMN) progression. The Gal-3-TRFIA was established using the double antibody sandwich method, with the capture antibodies coated on a 96-well microplate and the detection antibodies chelated with Europium (III) (Eu). Serum Gal-3 was detected in 81 patients with IMN and 123 healthy controls to further evaluate the value of the Gal-3 in staging of IMN.
