Background: This study aims to investigate the clinical characteristics and the length of hospital stay (LOS), as well as risk factors for prolonged LOS in a cohort of asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 patients infected with the Omicron variant.

Methods: A total of 1166 COVID-19 patients discharged from the inpatient ward of the largest makeshift hospital (May 8-10, 2022) in Shanghai, China, were included. The demographics, medical history, and the lowest and admission cycle threshold (Ct) values of the RT-PCR tests for SARS-CoV-2 genes of the open reading frame 1ab (Ct-ORF) and the nucleocapsid protein (Ct-N) during hospitalization were recorded.

Herein, a synergistic strategy to construct hierarchical NiMoO@CoVO (denoted as NMO@CVO) hybrid nanorod/nanosphere clusters is proposed for the first time, where CoVO nanospheres (denoted as CVO) have been uniformly immobilized on the surface of the NiMoO nanorods (denoted as NMO) via a facile two-step hydrothermal method. Due to the surface recombination effect between NMO and CVO, the as-prepared NMO@CVO effectively avoids the aggregation of CVO nanosphere clusters. The unique hybrid architecture can make the most of the large interfacial area and abundant active sites for storing charge, which is greatly beneficial for the rapid diffusion of electrolyte ions and fast electron transport.

Multi-layer black phosphorus (m-BP) has been successfully incorporated in zinc oxide (ZnO) hollow spheres, thus forming hetero-structured ZnO-BP composites; a study performed on their properties reveals that the BP environmental stability can be significantly enhanced by the introduction of ZnO, and the sensors based on ZnO-BP composites exhibit high response, fast response behavior, outstanding selectivity, and ultralow detection limit of 1 ppb towards NO gas molecules. The ultrasensitive sensing performance is suggested to be due to the large surface area, excellent carrier mobility, and enhanced charge transfer of ZnO-BP in the presence of BP. Moreover, the mechanism of NO sensing with ZnO-BP is confirmed by the calculations obtained from the first-principle studies.

ZnO/graphene (ZnO-G) hybrid composites are prepared via hydrothermal synthesis with graphite, N-methyl-pyrrolidone (NMP), and Zn(NO₃)₂·6H₂O as the precursors. The characterizations, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) indicate the formation of ZnO-G. Gas sensors were fabricated with ZnO-G composites and ZnO as sensing material, indicating that the response of the ZnO towards acetone was significantly enhanced by graphene doping.

The present study investigated the chemical constituents of the roots and rhizomes of Panax notoginseng. Compounds were isolated by various column chromatographic methods, and their structures were elucidated by the extensive analysis of spectroscopic data and chemical evidences. A novel 12, 23-epoxy dammarane-type saponin, named epoxynotoginsenoside A (1), together with four known compounds (2-5), was isolated and characterized.

A novel strategy for the qualitative and quantitative determination of 20(S)-protopanaxatriol saponins (PTS) and 20(S)-protopanaxadiol saponins (PDS) in Panax notoginseng, Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolium, based on the overlapping peaks of main components of PTS (calibrated by ginsenoside Rg1) and PDS (calibrated by ginsenoside Rb1), was proposed. The analysis was performed by using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with evaporative light scattering detection (HPLC-ELSD). Under specific chromatographic conditions, all samples showed two overlapping peaks containing several main ginsenosides belonging to PTS and PDS, respectively.

A Dmab(scFv)-Fc antibody containing the single chain variable fragment of a humanized daclizumab antibody and the Fc fragment of a human IgG1 antibody was produced via recombinant expression in Pichia pastoris. The Dmab(scFv)-Fc antibody forms a dimer in solution, and it specifically binds CD25-positive tumor cells and tumor tissues. For tumor imaging, the Dmab(scFv)-Fc antibody was labeled with the 131I isotope and CF750 fluorescent dye, respectively.
