Dendritic cells are the most potent antigen-presenting cells in immune therapeutic approaches for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection. Here, we developed a clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of autologous HBV vaccine-pulsed DCs and their induced T cells (HPDCT) in CHB patients. This was a randomised, prospective, open-label, multicentre, superiority study and 309 treatment-naive CHB patients were divided into HPDCT plus nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs) group (n = 84), NAs mono-therapy group (n = 82), HPDCT plus Peg-interferon (Peg-IFN) group (n = 69), Peg-IFN mono-therapy group (n = 74).

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic pollutant posing a risk in environmental persistence, bioaccumulation and biotoxicity. This study was to reach a comprehensive and deeper understanding of PFOS elimination in a UV photolytic treatment with the co-presence of Fe and nitrilotriacetic acid trisodium salt (NTA). PFOS defluorination was noticeably enhanced in the UV/Fe-NTA treatment compared with UV/NTA, UV/Fe and our previously studied UV/Fe treatments.

A novel malachite green molecularly imprinted membrane (MG-MIM) with specific selectivity for malachite green (MG) and leucomalachite green (LMG) was prepared using a hydrophobic glass fiber membrane as the polymer substrate, methyl violet as a template analog, 4-vinyl benzoic acid as the functional monomer, and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as the crosslinking agent. MG-MIM and non-imprinted membrane (NIM) were structurally characterized using scanning electron microscopy, surface area analyzer, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer and synchronous thermal analyzer. The results showed that MG-MIM possessed a fluffier surface, porous and looser structure, and had good thermal stability.

UV/Fe-facilitated PFOA defluorination was often reported and recognized to proceed through a "ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT)" mechanism in the literatures.
