Purpose: To present an innovative deformable applicator that used Freiburg flap as vaginal applicator with or without free-hand interstitial needles in three-dimensional (3D) high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy for vaginal stump recurrence of cervical cancer.
Material And Methods: Between September 2017 and January 2020, all patients with vaginal stump recurrence after radical hysterectomy of cervical cancer treated with vaginal stump brachytherapy using Freiburg flap as vaginal applicator with or without free-hand interstitial needles were retrospective analyzed. Characteristics related to patients and treatment modality as well as preliminary outcomes and side effects were investigated.
With no standard method to capture penicillin allergy de-labeling prevalence across populations, we developed and validated a simple penicillin allergy de-labeling prevalence measure from electronic health records that achieved perfect sensitivity (100.0%), high specificity (99.4%), and strong agreement with a comprehensive algorithm that included free-text manual review (Kappa=0.

Methods: In this retrospective, population-based cohort study, anonymized questionnaire data was retrieved from the Wu Chuan KOA Study, Inner Mongolia, China. After feature selections, participants were divided in a 7:3 ratio into training and test sets.
Commercial DHA-rich algal oil has some issues, such as an unpleasant odor and susceptibility to oxidation. The main fishy odor compounds in commercial DHA-rich algal oil powder and DHA-rich algal oil microcapsules are hexanal and (E, E)-2,4-heptadienal. To address this issue, a microencapsulation process was designed for DHA-rich algal oil using infant rice powder (IRP), maltodextrin (MD), and whey protein concentrate (WPC) as wall materials, with sodium starch octenyl succinate (SSOS) and monoacylglycerol (MAC) as emulsifiers.

The diabetogenic effects of pesticides have been reported in toxicological studies but their association with prediabetes is rarely investigated. We aimed to evaluate the association between pesticide exposure and impaired glucose regulation (IGR), including prediabetes (defined as impaired fasting glucose [IFG] and/or impaired glucose tolerance [IGT]) and insulin resistance, in a general U.

Chitosan hydrochloride-carboxymethyl starch (CHC-CMS) nanoparticles-based Pickering emulsions and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose/sodium citrate (HPMC/SC) microporous film were combined to embed and control-release LTP. With the CHC:CMS ratio varied from 1:0.

Density functional theory calculations reveal a different catalytic mechanism for the artificial peroxygenase from that of natural peroxygenases. In addition, continuous-flow systems are employed to combine CoNSA-POase with enantiocomplementary ketoreductases as well as an amine dehydrogenase, enabling the enantioselective synthesis of chiral alcohols and amines from hydrocarbons with significantly improved productivity.

However, contaminations from various sources pose significant threats to groundwater quality. Understanding the sources of groundwater contamination and the mechanisms of hydrochemical control is essential for the sustainable development of agriculturally intensive plains.

However, whether the main drug of GQD in treating T2D was or has always been a hot topic of debate among many doctors. Therefore, we conducted Study 2 and Study 3 to determine the main drug of GQD for treating T2D.

Their role in drug metabolism is particularly prominent, as CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 metabolize approximately 30-50% of known drugs. The genetic polymorphism of CYP3A4/5 is significant inter-individual variability in enzymatic activity, which can result in different pharmacokinetic profiles in response to the same drug among individuals.

This study aims to evaluate the prognostic value of serum IL-33 levels in patients admitted with their first-ever acute ischemic stroke.
Methods: This single-center, prospective, observational study included 216 patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Fabry disease (FD) is a rare X-linked inherited lysosomal storage disorder. The abnormal accumulation of metabolic substrates induces inflammation and fibrosis in cells, resulting in organ dysfunction. The clinical manifestations of FD are diverse and non-specific.

However, evidence from randomized clinical trials of this association remains inconclusive.
Objective: To evaluate the association between achieving target serum urate level with ULT and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) to severe or end-stage in patients with gout and impaired kidney function.
Background: Excessive iron accumulation in the brain has been implicated in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the patterns and probable sequences of iron accumulation across the PD brain remain largely unknown. This study aimed to explore the sequence of iron accumulation across the PD brain using R* mapping and a relaxometry covariance network (RCN) approach.

However, the durability of the commercial bioprosthetic valves has always been the limiting factor restricting the development of interventional valve technology. The chronic inflammatory reaction, calcification, and difficulty in endothelialization after the implantation of a glutaraldehyde cross-linked porcine aortic valve or bovine pericardium often led to valve degeneration.

Previous studies have demonstrated that self-directed learning (SDL) positively affects clinical thinking among MNS postgraduates. However, little is known about the mechanisms underlying the relationship between SDL and clinical thinking.

The study aims to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) regarding TCIM therapies for treating mild/moderate acute COVID-19, potentially informing the WHO guideline development and clinical decision-making.
Methods And Analysis: We will search Embase, MEDLINE, Virtual Health Library on Traditional Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, WHO's International Clinical Trials Registry Platform with additional searches of Chinese and Korean literature sources for randomised controlled trials comparing TCIM with placebo, standard care, no treatment or with an alternate type of TCIM to treat COVID-19.
All-solid-state lithium-ion batteries (ASSLIBs) are attracting significant attention due to their high energy density, conductivity and safety. However, they are expected to generate substantial waste in the near future, leading to resource depletion and environmental pollution. Therefore, it is crucial to achieve green, mild and safe recovery of ASSLIBs.

Zein and ethyl cellulose (EC) were used as raw materials to prepare a composite coating applied in aqueous systems with mechanical properties, water stability, water solubility (including room-temperature (RT)/high-temperature and neutral/acidic conditions), and oil resistance as evaluation index. Results showed the most suitable conditions were mass ratio of zein/EC at 1:9, 93 % (v/v) aqueous ethanol, oleic acid as the plasticizer with the amount of 0.3 g/g, and curing temperature at 70 °C.
