Obesity leads to a chronic inflammatory state throughout the body, with increased infiltration of immune cells and inflammatory factors in skeletal muscle tissue, and, at the same time, the level of intracellular mitochondrial oxidative stress rises. Meanwhile, obesity is closely related to the development of skeletal muscle fibrosis and can affect the metabolic function of skeletal muscle, triggering metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance (IR) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, whether there is a mutual regulatory effect between the two pathological states of inflammation and fibrosis in obese skeletal muscle and the specific molecular mechanisms have not been fully clarified.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease involving multiple factors. We explored the connection between intestinal microbiome levels and PD by examining inflammatory cytokines, peripheral immune cell counts and plasma metabolomics as potential factors. By obtaining the Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) data needed for this study from GWAS Catalog, including summary data for 473 intestinal microbiota traits (N = 5959), 91 inflammatory cytokine traits (N = 14,824), 118 peripheral immune cell count traits (N = 3757), 1400 plasma metabolite traits (N = 8299) and PD traits (N = 482,730).

The occurrence of heavy metals is important for understanding their behavior in the sediments of river-salt lake ecosystems due to dramatically changes in salinity and flow velocity at the confluence area. Sediments and surface water samples were collected from the Golmud River-Dabson Salt Lake ecosystem, northwest China, to investigate the spatial distribution, sediment-water partitioning, risk assessment and source apportionment of heavy metals. Three new bithiophene imide (BTI)-based organic small molecules, (), (), and (), with varied alkyl side chains, were developed and employed as self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) applied to NiOx films in tin perovskite solar cells (TPSCs).
