Background: Evidence has demonstrated that Chinese medicine formula Xuefu Zhuyu decoction can markedly promote the formation of new hair in patients and mice with alopecia areata (AA). Amygdalin is one of the active components of Xuefu Zhuyu decoction, but its therapeutic effects and the underlying mechanisms on AA remains largely unrevealed.

Purpose: Therefore, this study aims to investigate the therapeutic effects and to probe its molecular mechanisms of inflammation and immune regulation on AA model of C3H/HeJ mice.

Background: It has been reported that Mannose-binding lectin 2 (MBL2) gene polymorphisms and expression levels are related to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). This study aimed to investigate the potential association between MBL2 gene polymorphisms and the pathogenesis of DCM.

Methods: Five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the MBL2 gene were genotyped in 440 DCM patients and 532 controls in Southwest China.

Forecasting oil production is crucially important in oilfield management. Currently, multifeature-based modeling methods are widely used, but such modeling methods are not universally applicable due to the different actual conditions of oilfields in different places. In this paper, a time series forecasting method based on an integrated learning model is proposed, which combines the advantages of linearity and nonlinearity and is only concerned with the internal characteristics of the production curve itself, without considering other factors.

Atopy may be a facilitating factor in some alopecia areata (AA) patients with early disease onset and more severe/extensive AA. The underlying immune mechanisms are unknown, but allergen responses may support a pro-inflammatory environment that indirectly promotes AA. To investigate the long-term effect of allergen immunotherapy (AIT) against house dust mite (HDM) allergy on disease severity and prognosis for AA patients.

Topical immunotherapy with diphenylcyclopropenone (DPCP) is considered to be the most effective treatment of severe AA. However, the mechanism is unclear and an early predictor for the efficacy needs to be explored. The TSLP/OX40L/IL-13 pathway is an important pathway to initiate and maintain Th2 immune responses.

Background: As a traditional and typical prescription of prominently activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis, Xuefu Zhuyu decoction (XZD) consists of 15 kinds of herbal medicine. Clinical investigations have showed that XZD could significantly promote the new hair generation of alopecia areata (AA) patients characterized by Qi stagnation and blood stasis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was executed to determine whether the mechanisms by which XZD stimulated newborn hair were related to its anti-inflammatory effects.

Background: This study investigated predictors of response to topical diphenylyclopropenone (DPCP) immunotherapy in patients with alopecia areata (AA).

Objective: To identify predictors of response, or resistance, to treatment for AA through clinical observations and serum tests.

Methods: Eighty four AA patients were treated with DPCP.

Background: Syphilitic alopecia is not common in patients with secondary syphilis. Though the clinical and histopathological findings of syphilitic alopecia have been described, the trichoscopy features are unknown yet.

Main Observation: A 42-year-old Chinese man was admitted to our clinic with a complaint of hair loss.
