Amid rising global energy demand and worsening environmental pollution, there is an urgent need for efficient energy storage and conversion technologies. Oxygen electrocatalytic reactions, specifically the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are critical processes in these technologies. Low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials, including zero-dimensional carbon dots, one-dimensional carbon nanotubes, and two-dimensional graphene, demonstrate substantial potential in electrocatalysis due to their unique physical and chemical properties.

Acoustic thermometry is a fast, noncontact temperature measurement method that does not require heat exchange and, thus, is suitable for real-time monitoring of changes in air temperature at high altitudes where the thin air is not conducive to establishing thermal equilibrium. In this work, real-time measurements of air temperature at altitudes of up to 5200 m were achieved using a passive acoustic thermometer, which is an acoustic Fabry-Perot resonator (AFPR), consisting of an electret condenser microphone and an acoustic waveguide. The resonant frequency (fR) of the AFPR as a linear function of the mode order number (m) is measured using ambient white noise instead of external sound source, and the air temperature is determined based on the slope of the fR versus m curve.

This study introduces CT-1, a derivative of cryptotanshinone that effectively suppresses TNBC growth while selectively reducing the proportion of N2-type TANs within tumor tissue. Notably, CT-1 induces simultaneous ferroptosis in both N2-type TANs and TNBC cells, a dual mechanism that enhances its therapeutic efficacy.

This study aimed to evaluate the changes in HRQoL and independence in children with later-onset SMA receiving longitudinal treatment with nusinersen.
Methods: Forty-nine pediatric patients with later-onset SMA (symptom onset after 6 months of age) and their caregivers were enrolled.
Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is now a widely accepted treatment for inoperable chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), but it still faces the problem of high complications. Herein, we report a rare case of severe vagal response during the BPA of a total occlusion lesion in a patient with CTEPH. The patient experienced acute chest pain and dyspnea, accompanied by a significant decrease in heart rate and blood pressure.

Background: Preterm white matter injury (PWMI) is the most common type of brain injury in preterm infants, in which, oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) are predominantly damaged. In this study, human OPCs (hOPCs) were administered to a fetal goat model of PWMI to examine the differentiation potential and therapeutic effects of the cells on PWMI.
Methods: Preterm goat fetuses were subjected to hypoxic-ischemia (HI) via intermittent umbilical cord occlusion (5 min × 5).

In this study, two fluorinases, FlA and FlA, were identified from a pool of 12 718 nonredundant proteins using a genome-mining approach, with FlA showing high catalytic activity.
