Gastrointestinal tumors remain a global health problem. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication during the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors. AKI can cause a decrease in the remission rate and an increase in mortality.

Background: Trimethylamine--Oxide (TMAO) is a proatherogenic and prothrombotic metabolite. Our study examined the association of plasma TMAO level with cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients.

Methods: Patients who were at least 18 years-old and received HD for at least 6 months were enrolled within 6 months.

Background And Objectives: Indoxyl sulfate, a protein-bound uremic toxin, may be associated with cardiovascular events and mortality in patients with CKD. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between indoxyl sulfate and heart failure in patients on hemodialysis.

Design, Setting, Participants, & Measurements: Patients on hemodialysis for >6 months were enrolled within 6 months.

Clinical status of Sagliker syndrome: a case report and literature review.

In a 53-year-old woman, Sagliker syndrome developed during 22 years of treatment with intermittent hemodialysis as a result of severe secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) complicating end-stage renal disease. She failed medical managements and lost her renal graft just after the kidney transplantation due to acute rejection. Although surgical parathyroidectomy was effective, the parathyroid hormone level became extremely high again due to recurrent hyperparathyroidism.

[18F-FDG imaging by coincidence circuit SPECT with low-dose CT in preoperative assessment of pulmonary lesions].

Objective: To assess the clinical diagnostic value of 18F-FDG imaging by coincidence circuit SPECT with low-dose CT in differential diagnosis of pulmonary lesions and mediastinal lymph node involvement, which can not be definitely diagnosed based on regular CT image in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: By using GE-Millennium VG with Hawkeye, 18F-FDG imaging was carried out in 48 patients with suspected lung cancer. Clinical value of 18F-FDG imaging for diagnosing malignancy was evaluated through comparison with the final pathological results.

[Research on optical property of phase transition VO2 films].

Optical transmission spectra of VO2 films on glass, fused silica, and sapphire were recorded and analyzed during heating process. Thermally induced phase transition of VO2 films occurred at a certain temperature, associated with abrupt changes in optical properties. The transition temperature and the contrast of the optical properties depended on the substrate and the deposit method used.
