Background: Nervus intermedius neuralgia (NIN) is characterized by paroxysmal episodes of sharp, lancinating pain in the deep ear. Unfortunately, only a few studies exist in the literature on this pain syndrome, its pathology and postoperative outcomes.

The Ca-binding protein Kv channel interacting protein 3 (KChIP3) or downstream regulatory element antagonist modulator (DREAM), a member of the neuronal calcium sensor (NCS) family, shows remarkable multifunctional properties. It acts as a transcriptional repressor in the nucleus and a modulator of ion channels or receptors, such as Kv4, NMDA receptors and TRPV1 channels on the cytomembrane. Previous studies of mice have indicated that KChIP3 facilitates pain hypersensitivity by repressing expression in the spinal cord.

Background: It has been identified consequences of dysregulation of JAK-STAT signalling, particularly in regard to JAK-STAT signalling that has been shown to have roles in the oncogenesis of several cell types. SOCS3 protein, the negative regulatory protein of JAK-STAT signaling pathway, may also plays critical regulatory roles in cancer initiation and progression. Because of the high concentrations of heavy metals, municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is classified as a hazardous waste, which need to be treated to avoid damaging the environment. A novel water-soluble thiourea-formaldehyde (WTF) resin was synthesized by two step reactions (hydroxymethylation reaction and condensation reaction) in the laboratory. Synthetic conditions, removal of free formaldehyde in the resin and the ability of immobilization heavy metals in the MSWI fly ash were studied.
