The artificial tactile perception system of this work utilizes a fully connected spiking neural network (SNN) comprising two layers. Its architecture is streamlined and energy-efficient as it directly integrates spiking tactile neurons with piezoresistive sensors and Pt/NbO/TiN memristors as input neurons. These spiking tactile neurons possess the ability to perceive and integrate pressure stimuli from multiple sensors and encode the information into rate-coded electrical spikes, closely resembling the behavior of a biological tactile neuron.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOptic canal unroofing (OCU) has gradually become a routine technique for tuberculum sellae meningiomas (TSMs) resection. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of OCU. A systematic review and meta-analysis of the published literature on this topic from 2003 to 2023 were conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines.

In this study, we determined soil organic carbon pools and associated enzyme activities following five years of different charcoal treatments[charcoal removal (B), charcoal retained in situ (B), and the addition of charcoal removed from B(B)] and the unburnt control (UB) in a recently harvested plantation subjected to broadcast burning. The results showed that dissolved organic carbon (DOC), microbial biomass carbon (MBC), coarse and fine particulate organic carbon (CPOC and FPOC), and recalcitrant carbon (RC) contents were significantly lower in B than those in UB soil (<0.

Methods: Together with the relevant literature, we retrospectively studied the clinical and imaging data of two patients (mother and child) with CSF rhinorrhea caused by patent meningoencephalocele of Sternberg's canal of the sphenoid sinus, analyzed their diagnostic and treatment procedures, and proposed a potential, feasible treatment method.
Results: On the 2 day after surgery, the expansive sponge and iodoform gauze in the nasal cavity were removed in both patients, and the lumbar subarachnoid drainage was removed 3 days after the operation, as no nasal discharge was observed.
The development of epigenetic maps, such as the ENCODE project in humans, provides resources for gene regulation studies and a reference for research of disease-related regulatory elements. However, epigenetic information, such as a bird-specific chromatin accessibility atlas, is currently lacking for the thousands of bird species currently described. The major genomic difference between birds and mammals is their shorter introns and intergenic distances, which seriously hinders the use of humans and mice as a reference for studying the function of important regulatory regions in birds.

In this study, plantations of different stand ages (9, 17, 26, 34, and 43 a) in mid-subtropical China were taken as the research object; the activities of -glucosidase (BG), -acetyl--glucosaminidase (NAG), leucine amino-peptidase (LAP), acid phosphatase (AP), polyphenol oxidase (POX), and peroxidase (POD) were determined; and soil enzyme stoichiometric ratios were also calculated to investigate the soil microbial nutrient limitations of plantation development. The results showed that the activities of BG, NAG, AP, POX, and POD were enhanced with the increase in stand age, and the activity of LAP was the lowest at 17 a, which showed a significant difference and fluctuated among the neighboring stand ages.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) are regarded as 'incretins' working closely to regulate glucose homeostasis. Unimolecular dual and triple agonists of GLP-1R and GIPR have shown remarkable clinical benefits in treating type 2 diabetes. However, their pharmacological characterization is usually carried out in a single receptor-expressing system.

Metabolomics has been widely used in medicine, food science, crop and farm animal research, and other fields. Metabolomics can establish a more direct relationship between changes in the type and content of metabolites and phenotypes.

However, only a limited number of small molecule inhibitors have been identified to study its role in cellular processes. Here, we report a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) high-throughput screening assay based on the interaction between E2 Ubc9 and E3 PIAS1.

The aim of this study was to identify the variety of proteins encoded by protrusion-localized mRNAs and their roles in the metastasis and invasion of liver cancer cells.
Methods: Highly metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma cell line HCCLM3 and non-metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma cell line SMMC-7721 were examined.
Our previous studies showed that protein phosphatase 1γ (PP1γ) exacerbates cardiomyocyte apoptosis through promotion of Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase δ (CaMKIIδ) splicing. Here we determine the role of PP1γ in abdominal aorta constriction-induced hypertrophy and remodelling in rat hearts. Systolic blood pressure and echocardiographic measurements were used to evaluate the model of cardiac hypertrophy.
