In coastal areas, the surface water has been simultaneously exposed to the algae blooms caused by eutrophication and the microplastics (MPs) pollution originating from active human activities. As a practical alternative to address these issues in drinking water plant, coagulation-ultrafiltration combined process is still confronted with the limited understanding about the comprehensive effects of MPs on algae-laden surface water (ASW) treatment. Considering the migration of MPs in nature environment and drinking water treatment process, this study first aims to systematically investigate the influence of MPs on algae cultivation, coagulation performance and membrane fouling development.

This study explores the potential regulatory mechanism of TSIIA on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) progression. The cytotoxicity of TSIIA was evaluated by MTT (3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-Diphenyltetrazolium Bromide) and LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) assays.

The process of anther/pollen development is coordinately regulated by internal and external factors including hormones. Currently, the molecular mechanisms underlying gibberellin (GA)-mediated male reproductive development in plants remain unknown.

Previously, we showed that the glycosylation levels of TgAb IgG differed across various thyroid diseases, suggesting an important role of glycosylation on antibodies in the pathogenesis of thyroid diseases. Since IgG1 and IgG4 are the primary TgAb IgG subclasses, this study aimed to investigate the glycosylation of TgAb IgG1 and IgG4 subclasses in thyroid diseases.

It has been theorized that a unique property of legume root cortical cells enabled the initial establishment of rhizobial symbiosis. Here we show that a SHORTROOT-SCARECROW (SHR-SCR) stem cell program in cortical cells of the legume Medicago truncatula specifies their distinct fate.

We discovered that misinformation and true information about genetically modified organisms demonstrated different dissemination patterns on social media. In general, the dissemination networks of misinformation about genetically modified organisms were found to have higher structural stability than those of true information about genetically modified organisms, as shown by the denser network structure with fewer distinct subgroups residing within the dissemination networks.

On the basis of obtained research data, we sought to investigate whether the therapeutic strategies by Tocilizumab mimotope vaccination could be effective in the renal fibrosis model and show the desired activity by inhibiting IL-6 signaling in current study.
Main Methods: We immunized the mice with the Tocilizumab mimotope and then performed the unilateral ureteric obstruction (UUO) surgery.
COVID-19 has become a public health emergency due to its rapid transmission. The appearance of pneumonia is one of the major clues for the diagnosis, progress and therapeutic evaluation. More and more literatures about imaging manifestations and related research have been reported.

Our previous study showed that exposure to low-dose radiation (LDR) at a dose of 0.2 Gy promoted DC migration in vitro.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFor dendritic cells (DCs) to initiate an immune response, their ability to migrate and to produce interleukin-12 (IL-12) is crucial. It has been previously shown that low-dose radiation (LDR) promoted IL-12 production by DCs, resulting in increased DC activity that contributed to LDR hormesis in the immune system. However, the molecular mechanism of LDR-induced IL-12 production, as well as the effect of LDR on DC migration capacity require further elucidation.

This paper proposes a feature extraction method that is based on deep belief networks (DBN) and a classification method that is based on the random forest (RF) algorithm; The proposed algorithm mainly employs a multi-layer neural network to reduce the dimension of the original data, and then, classification is applied. Firstly, we use the method of wavelet denoising, which was used to pre-process the data.

Previous studies have demonstrated that the radioresistance of cancer is due to the existence of intrinsic cancer stem cells (CSCs), which represent a small, but radioresistant cell subpopulation that exist in heterogeneous tumors. By contrast, non-stem cancer cells are considered to be radiosensitive and thus, easy to kill.

Its taxonomic value has been controversial for more than a century. The genus Fraseroscyphus Boero and Bouillon, 1993 (Hydrozoa: Sertulariidae) is a relatively recently debated case and it has been distinguished from Symplectoscyphus Marktanner-Turneretscher, 1890 based on this character.

Objective: To clone and express VP1-VP4 genes encoding the structural proteins of Coxsackie virus A16 and analyze the antigenicity of the expressed recombinant proteins.
Methods: The VP1-VP4 cDNAs were amplified with RT-PCR from the extracted viral RNA and cloned into pMD19-T vectors. The VP1-VP4 genes were inserted to the multi-cloning sites of the plasmid pQE30a, and the protein expressions in E.
