Catalyst-Free [4+1] Annulation of α-Imidoyl Sulfoxonium Ylides and Diazo Compounds Enabling the Modular Synthesis of 2-Indanones and 3(2)-Furanones.

A novel substrate-regulated [4+1] annulation of α-imidoyl sulfoxonium ylides with diazoketones under catalyst-free conditions is described. The reaction proceeds through a coupling of sulfoxonium ylides and in situ-generated ketenes to form the key reactive zwitterionic intermediates, followed by selective formation of C-C or C-O bonds to achieve five-membered ring systems. The cascade reaction permits the direct synthesis of synthetically useful 2-indanones and 3(2)-furanones, which expands the reaction pattern of sulfoxonium ylides in annulation transformation.

Methods: In this single-centered, retrospective study, a total of 83 identified pSS-ILD patients with relatively complete clinical data were finally enrolled. Clinical symptoms, laboratory data, high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT), and pulmonary function test (PFT) results were collected.

In the present study, a 1,713 bp gene of Chi1602, derived from a marine bacterium Microbulbifer sp. BN3, encoding a GH18 family chitinase, was expressed at high levels in Pichia pastoris.

Batch experiments were conducted to compare the adsorption of E2 onto activated aerobic granular sludge (AGS) and activated sludge (AS), and features evaluated included the adsorption kinetics, thermodynamics, and influence of other environmental factors. By using a non-chemical wet-heat technique, both AGS and AS were treated to inactivated status.

Although the stomach is the most common location for gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) with co-primary tumors, the synchronous appearance of a poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) and GIST in the stomach is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of gastric GIST coexisting with gastric NEC to be reported in the literature. The current study reports the case of a 71-year-old male with gastric poorly differentiated NEC and GIST discovered incidentally during surgical treatment of the NEC.

The presence and distribution of typical of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), which comprise two types of polycyclic musks (PCMs) including Galaxolide (HHCB) and Tonalide (AHTN) as well as six types of estrogens containing estrone (E1), 17β-estradiol (E2), estriol (E3), 17α-ethynylestradiol (EE2), diethylstilbestrol (DES), and bisphenol A (BPA), were investigated at two wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Jiangsu, China. Only raw wastewater was treated in WWTP A while WWTP B was serving an urban-industrialized area. In the influent, the concentrations of EE2 (2193-4437ngL(-1)), E2 (1126-1170ngL(-1)), and DES (268-421ngL(-1)) were generally higher than the previously reported values, whereas the concentrations of HHCB (306-316ngL(-1)), E1 (29-129ngL(-1)), E3 (53ngL(-1)), and BPA (26-176ngL(-1)) were much lower than those reported in other previous studies.
