Detection rates of pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs) have increased, resulting in greater requirements for regular monitoring using imaging modalities. We aimed to evaluate the capability of ultrasonography (US) for morphological characterization of PCLs as a reference standard using endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). A retrospective analysis was conducted of 102 PCLs from 92 patients who underwent US immediately prior to EUS between January 2014 and May 2017.

This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of the road-map technique for duodenal intubation using a side-viewing duodenoscope for ERCP in Billroth II gastrectomy patients with naïve papilla, and to analyze the formation and release patterns of common bowel loops that occur when the duodenoscope navigates the afferent limb. The duodenoscopy approach success rate was 85.

With the rapid application of nuclear technology, radiation protection is becoming more and more important. For external radiation protection, most of the national metrology institutes in the world have established the primary standard of X-ray air kerma in (10-250) kV and Cs-137 gamma ray, but the energy between 250 and 662 keV needs the establishment of traceability. To provide solution to such issue, a graphite cavity ionization chamber was constructed at National Institute of Metrology to measure the air kerma in (250-450) kV X-ray.

MiR-371-5p expression (measured using qRT-PCR) was upregulated in GC tissues and correlated positively with TNM staging and lymph node (LN) metastasis. MiR-371-5p expression was higher in human GC cell lines (AGS, MKN-28, BGC-823, MGC-803, SGC-7901 and MKN-45) than in human normal gastric epithelial (GES-1) cells (all P < 0.

In the present study, we have developed a novel composite PLGA NP co-encapsulated with anticancer drug (sorafenib) and magnetic NP (SPION). We have successfully developed nanosized folate-conjugated PEGylated PLGA nanoparticles (SRF/FA-PEG-PLGA NP) with both anticancer and magnetic resonance property.

Methods: The expression of CAI and CAII protein in 57 pairs of paraffin-embedded PDAC specimens and adjacent non-cancerous pancreatic tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship between the protein expression and clinicopathological characters was analyzed.
Objective: To study the clinicopathological significance of the expression of carbonic anhydrase (CA)II protein and mRNA in primary invasive ductal cancer (IDC) of human pancreas.
Methods: The expression of CAII protein in 33 paired paraffin embedded IDC specimens of the pancreas and paired adjacent non-cancerous pancreatic tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. Western blot and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were used to examine the expression of CAII protein and mRNA level in 12 paired fresh IDC specimens of the pancreas and adjuvant non-cancerous pancreatic tissues.
Objective: To explore the therapeutic effects of Xiaozhong Zhitong mixture preventing heterotopic ossification (HO) after total hip arthroplasty.
Methods: From July 2006 to October 2009, 154 patients underwent total hip replacement surgery were randomly divided into sham group (group A, 50 cases), indomethacin group (group B, 55 cases) and Xiaozhong Zhitong mixture group (group C, 49 cases). Among 154 patients, 9 cases were primary osteoarthris, 34 cases osteoarthritis secondary to acetabular dysplasia, 98 cases osteoarthritis secondary to avascular necrosis of the femoral head, 2 cases rheumatoid arthritis, 5 cases femoral neck fracture, 6 cases other diseases.
Objective: To observe the effects of Chinese herb of promoting blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis on the levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in serum of patients with mudslide injuries, and investigate the mechanisms of Chinese herb of promoting blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis in the treatment of mudslide injuries.
Methods: Patients with mudslide injuries who were translated from Zhouqu and Chengxian to Lanzhou from 12th August 2010 were divided into two groups (group A and group B). Twenty-five patients in group A, containing 15 males and 10 females, with an average age of (39.

Objective: To analysis the risk factors of pancreatic fistula after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: A retrospective clinical study had been done in 97 patients who underwent PD between June 2001 and June 2006. The two groups were first compared by the univariate analysis;logistic regression was then used to determine the effect of multiple factors on pancreatic fistula.
Objective: To determine the effect of EGF on the invasiveness of pancreatic cancer cells and its related regulatory mechanism.
Methods: The effects of EGF on the proliferation, adhesion and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells were detected by WST-1 proliferation assay, adhesion assay and invasive assay. The expression of uPA was assayed by Western blot and RT-PCR.

Background: Cholecyst cholesterol lithiasis is a common disease of the digestive system; however, the cause of lithogenesis is still unclear. Although bile salt export pump (BSEP), multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2), and multiple drug resistance 3 (MDR3) are 3 well-known transporting proteins, their effect on lithogenesis has not been elucidated. This study was undertaken to examine the relationship between BSEP, MRP2, MDR3, and cholesterol calculus formation.
