Cassava is a crucial crop that makes a significant contribution to ensuring human food security. However, high-quality telomere-to-telomere cassava genomes have not been available up to now, which has restricted the progress of haploid molecular breeding for cassava. In this study, we constructed two nearly complete haploid resolved genomes and an integrated, telomere-to-telomere gap-free reference genome of an excellent cassava variety, 'Xinxuan 048', thereby providing a new high-quality genomic resource.

Due to strict intra-ethnic marriage rule, this ethnic has an advantage in studying the interaction between genetic factors and other regulatory factors related to dental caries.
Methods: Peripheral blood from a caries-free adult male was used for whole genome sequencing, and the BKY assembled genome was compared to the Han Chinese genome.

Objective To systematically review the overall status of postoperative recurrence in patients with atypical meningiomas. Methods China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,VIP Database,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for collection of the relevant literature on the recurrence of atypical meningioma from database establishment to July 2021.Two investigators independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies, and then performed a meta-analysis by using R 5.

Prostate cancer (PCa), as a malignant tumor originating in the prostate glandular epithelium, has become a global "killer" that threatens the health of elderly men. PCa-related studies have been focusing on the progression mechanisms and treatment strategies of the malignancy, particularly on the role of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in recent years. The lncRNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) plays a key role in the progression and treatment of PCa, as well as in its metastasis and invasion and cell proliferation.

The major findings showed that the pH values in the overlying and interstitial water increased from 4.72 to 8.

Tet is a type of alkaloid extracted from Stephania tetrandra, and it has recently been demonstrated that Tet can protect against inflammation and free radical injury and inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators. The present study was designed to observe the protective effect of Tet on sodium taurocholate-induced severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). The rat model of SAP was induced by retrograde bile duct injection of sodium taurocholate and then treated with Verapamil and Tet.

Over the past few decades, climate warming has caused profound changes in our living environment, and human diseases, including infectious diseases, have also been influenced by these changes. However, it remains unclear if a warm-wet climate can influence the infectivity of influenza and result in influenza pandemics. This study focused on observations of how the hydrothermal environment influences the infectivity of the influenza virus and the resulting immunoreactions of the infected mice.

Methods: Single nucleotide polymorphisms in UGT2B7 were investigated in 102 epilepsy patients using DNA sequencing and polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis. The steady-state plasma concentrations of VPA were determined in these patients, who had received VPA (approx.
Hepatitis B virus X protein (HBx) is involved in the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Overexpression of the transcripts from the P3 and P4 promoters of the insulin-like growth factor-II (IGF-II) gene is observed in HCC. The present study investigated the involvement of HBx in IGF-II overexpression and its epigenetic regulation.

We investigated whether intercellular adhesion molecular-1 (ICAM-1), Fas, and Fas ligand (FasL) can be used as novel biomarkers of acute pancreaticoduodenal allograft dysfunction in pigs.
Methods: Forty outbred landraces were randomly divided into three groups.
The aim of this study was to explore the association between the single-nucleotide polymorphisms of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase-M (IRAK-M) gene and the susceptibility of sepsis. The allele frequency and genotype distribution of IRAK-M gene polymorphisms were assessed in 118 controls and 82 sepsis patients by semiquantitative polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis. The plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Objective: To investigate the expression of survivin in acute pancreatitis in rats.
Methods: Acute pancreatitis was induced in rats by retrograde injection of sodium taurocholate into the pancreaticobiliary duct. The expressions of survivin in the pancreatic tissues was detected by immunohistochemisty, Western blotting and RT-PCR, and the apoptotic ratio of the acinar cells was determined by TUNEL assay.

Background: During hepatectomy, a period of ischemia and restoration of the blood supply can result in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). Current research indicates that erythropoietin (EPO) has a protective effect in animal models of cerebral ischemia, myocardial infarction, and renal IRI. However there is lack of research into the role of EPO in hepatic IRI.

Objective: To investigate the effect of resveratrol on the apoptosis of pancreatic acinar cells in rats with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) and explore the mechanism of such effect.
Method: SD rats with 3.5% sodium taurocholate-induced SAP were treated with resveratrol, and the serum amylase was detected with automatic biochemistry analyzer.
Targeting of ion channels to caveolae, a subset of lipid rafts, allow cells to respond efficiently to extracellular signals. Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel (HCN) 4 is a major subunit for the cardiac pacemaker. Caveolin-3 (Cav3), abundantly expressed in muscle cells, is responsible for forming caveolae.
