Congenital pulmonary airway malformations (CPAMs) are rare multicystic lung lesions typically diagnosed antenatally. We present a case of a term female neonate with antenatally diagnosed CPAM who required pleuro-amniotic shunting at 22 weeks of gestation. The patient was born with a right-sided pneumothorax and severe cardiorespiratory distress, necessitating extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

We present the case of a 63-year-old Caucasian woman diagnosed with PSP who underwent a left lower lobe basal segmentectomy with systematic nodal dissection, performed via video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).

While a majority of IMAs are driven by KRAS mutations, recent studies have identified distinct genomic alterations, such as NRG1 and ERBB2 fusions. IMAs also more frequently present as a pneumonic-like pattern with multifocal and multilobar involvement, and comparative genomic profiling predominantly shows a clonal relationship, suggesting intrapulmonary metastases rather than synchronous primary tumours.

To date, there has been a lack of evidence on the radiographical features, clinicopathological features, and treatment modalities of LELCC, with less than 28 cases of LELCC without Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection having been reported worldwide. The treatment of LELCC remains unexplored.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of CVD awareness and mental health on health behaviors and evaluate the moderating effect of mental health on the relationship between CVD awareness and health behaviors among Korean Chinese workers.
Method: We used a cross-sectional design and convenience sampling of participants from Seoul in December 2021.
There are an increasing number of clinical studies evaluating different adeno-associated virus (AAV) serotypes as vectors for gene therapy. Long-term frozen storage can maximize the stability of AAV. Freeze-thaw (F/T) cycles and exposures to room temperature (RT) and refrigerated conditions occur during manufacturing, labeling, and clinical use.

Supply of early clinical studies with frozen drug product (DP) can accelerate timelines and minimize degradation risks. In the long-term, logistical challenges of frozen DP may limit patient access.

DNA is released from AAV capsids at high temperatures. Less is known about DNA release that may occur under conditions relevant to clinical and commercial manufacturing, storage, and distribution.

Methods: Histologic subtype, percentage of epithelioid morphology, nuclear grade, and the presence or absence of necrosis were compared in 429 paired biopsies and resection specimens of pleural MM from 19 institutions.
Diffuse malignant mesothelioma (MM) is an incurable tumour of the serosal membranes, which is often caused by exposure to asbestos and commonly diagnosed at advanced stage. Malignant mesothelioma in situ (MMIS) is now included as diagnostic category by the World Health Organization (WHO). However, our international survey of 34 pulmonary pathologists with an interest in MM diagnosis highlights inconsistency regarding how the diagnosis is being made by experts, despite published guidelines.

Histology revealed this to be an adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the lung, while local lymph node dissection revealed a synchronous diagnosis of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). The connection between CLL and solid organ malignancy is well documented, but the reporting of ACC in this context is novel.

The aims of this article are to describe a series of mucinous adenocarcinomas arising from CPAMs, and present their clinicopathological features, genetics, and clinical outcome.
Methods And Results: Thirty-seven cases were collected within a 34-year period, and the subtype of adenocarcinoma and CPAM, tumour location, stage, growth patterns, molecular data and follow-up were recorded.
Aims: Nuclear grade has been recently validated as a powerful prognostic tool in epithelioid malignant pleural mesothelioma (E-MPM). In other studies histological parameters including pleomorphic features and growth patterns were also shown to exert prognostic impact. The primary aims of our study are (i) externally validate the prognostic role of pleomorphic features in E-MPM and (ii) investigate if evaluating growth pattern in addition to 2-tier nuclear grade improves prognostication.

Methods: We reviewed the pathologic features in 84 IMAs, including histologic pattern, nuclear atypia, mitosis, necrosis, and lymphovascular invasion.
High-quality histopathology is essential for the success of clinical trials. Histopathologists have a detailed understanding of tumour biology and mechanisms of disease, as well as practical knowledge of optimal tissue handling and logistical service requirements for study delivery, such as biomarker evaluation, tissue acquisition and turnaround times. As such, histopathologist input is essential throughout every stage of research and clinical trials, from concept development and study design to trial delivery, analysis and dissemination of results.

Using the proposed system, we conducted an independent, external validation study using 563 consecutive cases of epithelioid MPM diagnosed at our institution between 2003 and 2017, of which 87% of patients underwent biopsies only. The median number of sites sampled was 1, with a median maximum tissue dimension of 17 mm (biopsy) and 150 mm (resection).

Its pathologic diagnosis is often surprising in patients with serosal/subserosal based localized tumors that are clinically suspicious for metastatic lesions or primary sarcomas. Once a tumor is diagnosed as "mesothelioma", LMM is often mistaken for diffuse malignant mesothelioma (DMM).

The results showed that the proportion of shrubland was always small in this area from 1989 to 2013. During 1989-2013, the proportion of shrubland rapidly decreased and plantation area significantly increased, while the area of grassland and natural secondary forest slightly changed.

Here we hypothesized that the structural alterations in the basal lamina associated with age can induce mechanotransduction pathways in prostate epithelial cells (PECs) to promote invasiveness and cancer progression. To demonstrate this, we developed a 3D model of PEC acini in which thickening and stiffening of basal lamina matrix was induced by advanced glycation end-product (AGE)-dependent non-enzymatic crosslinking of its major components, collagen IV and laminin.

Peanut and tree-nut allergies have attracted considerable attention because of their frequency and their lifelong persistence. Brazil-nut (Bertholletia excelsa) allergies have been well documented and the 11S legumin-like seed storage protein Ber e 2 (excelsin) is one of the two known brazil-nut allergens. In this study, Ber e 2 was extracted from brazil-nut kernels and purified to high purity by crystalline precipitation and gel-filtration chromatography.
