The amelioration of cadmium (Cd) toxicity in plants by ammonium (NH) has been widely investigated. However, the molecular mechanisms underpinning this amelioration have remained ambiguous. Here, we found that NH significantly reduces Cd accumulation and enhances antioxidant capacity by increasing ABA accumulation, which, in turn, improves Cd tolerance in rice seedlings.

Avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J), a member of the genus Alpharetrovirus, possesses a small genome and exploits a vast array of host factors during its replication cycle. To identify host factors required for ALV-J replication and potentially guide the development of key therapeutic targets for ALV-J prevention, we employed a chicken genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 knockout library to screen host factors involved in ALV-J infection within DF-1 cells. Objectives: The study compared the learning effectiveness and teaching satisfaction of dental students from three teaching methods (traditional, digital, and combined pedagogy) for instructing jaw relation recording and transferring (JRRT).

Methods: Note that, 276 fourth-year undergraduate students from three classes were randomly divided into three groups to study JRRT in complete dentures using different teaching methods: traditional pedagogy group, digital pedagogy group, and combined digital and traditional pedagogy group. After the course, the learning effectiveness of basic knowledge and satisfaction questionnaire was administered to the three groups of participants using a quick response code for online answering.

Quantum metrology is deeply connected to quantum geometry, through the fundamental notion of quantum Fisher information. Inspired by advances in topological matter, it was recently suggested that the Berry curvature and Chern numbers of band structures can dictate strict lower bounds on metrological properties, hence establishing a strong connection between topology and quantum metrology. In this work, we provide a first experimental verification of such topological bounds, by performing optimal quantum multi-parameter estimation and achieving the best possible measurement precision.

Efficient cytosolic delivery is a significant hurdle when using short interfering RNA (siRNA) in therapeutic applications. Here we show that cholesterol-rich exosomes are prone to entering cancer cells through membrane fusion, achieving direct cytosolic delivery of siRNA.
