Background: Subsequent lines of therapy for chemotherapy-resistant metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) have shown limited efficacy. Herein, we retrospectively investigated the efficacy and safety of hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) using oxaliplatin plus 5-FU/FUDR in patients with unresectable colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) who progressed following standard chemotherapy regimens.
Methods: From March 2017 to April 2023, CRC patients with unresectable CRLM who progressed following standard chemotherapy and subsequently received HAIC oxaliplatin plus 5-FU/FUDR were evaluated.
Purpose: This study investigated whether professional identity predicts learning burnout among Chinese nursing students, and whether resilience moderates this relationship.
Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited 635 students from a nursing college at a medical university in Hefei, China. Data were collected using the professional identity questionnaire, learning burnout scale for college students, and 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale.
Background: Hepatic artery infusion (HAI) chemotherapy, particularly with floxuridine (FUDR), has previously shown effectiveness in improving recurrence-free survival (RFS) in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). Nonetheless, its adjuvant use alongside modern systemic chemotherapy remains unevaluated.
Patients And Methods: The HARVEST trial is an open-label, randomized, controlled study conducted from May 2018 to August 2021.
Introduction: Skeletal muscle dysfunction is a significant factor contributing to exercise limitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Although exercise training is often recommended to enhance patient outcomes, there continues to be ongoing debate regarding its exact effects.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of endurance exercise, strength training and combined exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness (including maximal oxygen uptake, maximal minute ventilation, and the 6-minute walk test), strength of lower limbs (measured by leg press), and quality of life (using the COPD Assessment Test) in patients with COPD.
Watershed ecosystems play a pivotal role in maintaining the global carbon cycle and reducing global warming by serving as vital carbon reservoirs for sustainable ecosystem management. In this study, we based on the "quantity-mechanism-scenario" frameworks, integrate the MCE-CA-Markov and InVEST models to evaluate the spatiotemporal variations of carbon stocks in mid- to high-latitude alpine watersheds in China under historical and future climate scenarios. Additionally, the study employs the Geographic Detector model to explore the driving mechanisms influencing the carbon storage capacity of watershed ecosystems.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with G/GEJ adenocarcinoma who had undergone first-line treatment with PD-1 inhibitors plus chemotherapy between October 2017 and May 2022. The primary outcomes were objective response rate (ORR) and progression-free survival (PFS).
This study aims to explore the correlation between intestinal toxicity and composition changes of Euphorbia ebracteolata before and after Terminalia chebula soup(TCS) processing. Intragastric administration was performed on the whole animal model. By using fecal water content, inflammatory causes, and pathological damage of different parts of the intestinal tract of mice as indexes, the differences in intestinal toxicity of dichloromethane extraction of raw E.

Additionally, the efficacy and safety of ALK inhibitors (ALKi) in CRC remain undetermined. Herein, we examined a series of ALK-positive CRC patients who underwent various lines of ALKi treatment.

Background: Patients with initially unresectable colorectal cancer liver metastases (IU-CRLM) might benefit from using an effective systemic treatment followed by resection of liver metastases but the curative success rate is quite low. Indeed, nearly one-third of patients exhibit early recurrence within the first 6 months after surgery, and these individuals often have poor overall survival.
Objectives: This study aims to clarify the application value of serial circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) analysis in predicting the clinical outcome of IU-CRLM patients following liver metastasectomy.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic, non-specific inflammatory disease affecting the colon and rectum with an etiology that remains elusive. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been widely used on long-term UC treatment to better maintain the efficacy than traditional aminosalicylic acid or glucocorticosteroids and to ease financial burden of patients. Qingchang Wenzhong Decoction (QCWZD) is a modern TCM decoction with established clinical efficacy but the mechanism of its protection on intestinal barrier function remains unclear.

This study aims to investigate the clinical and molecular characteristics and potential heterogeneity of -mutant CRC.
Methods: A total of 78 patients with -mutant CRC were enrolled from July 2013 to November 2022.
Background: Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) IIb and tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) are common causes of drug-resistant epilepsy in children. However, the etiologies related to the development of FCD IIb and TSC are not fully understood. α-synuclein (α-syn) is a member of synucleins family that plays crucial roles in modulating synaptic transmission in central nervous system.

Tanshinol (Danshensu in Chinese, DSS), a major ingredient of salvia mitiorrhiza Bunge (Lamiaceae) root, exerted significant cardio protection effects. In this study, we aimed to identify the action target and then uncover the mechanism of DSS alleviating myocardial fibrosis.

Background: Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal involvement. However, there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in children.
Methods: Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected retrospectively.
To explore the clinical effect of "micromovement" in preventing intraoperative acquired pressure injures (IAPIs) among patients experiencing surgery in supine position. A total of 200 patients accepting elective surgery in supine position from 10 May 2023 to 4 July 2023 at Shulan (Hangzhou) Hospital were selected and randomized into two groups (experimental group, n = 100; control group, n = 100). For control group patients, soft silicone foam dressing was applied to the sacrococcygeal region.

However, the functional and mechanistic aspects of CDO1 inactivation in BC are poorly understood, and the diagnostic significance of serum CDO1 methylation remains unclear.
Methods: We performed bioinformatics analysis of publicly available databases and employed MassARRAY EpiTYPER methylation sequencing technology to identify differentially methylated sites in the CDO1 promoter of BC tissues compared to normal adjacent tissues (NATs).
Background: Baicalin has been shown to promote spatial learning and neural regeneration, which might increase the differentiation of neural stem cells in Alzheimer's disease (AD) rat models. We aimed to study the role of baicalin on neuronal pentraxin-1 (NPTX-1), neuronal pentraxin-2 (NPTX-2), and C-reactive protein (CRP) in AD model rats.
Methods: The 30 male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into three groups: the control group, the AD model group, and the AD + baicalin group.
