Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop liquid crystal (LC) precursors to obtain novel long-acting analgesics for injection based on depot systems and compare the difference between the cubic and hexagonal precursors in delivering Diclofenac sodium (DS).
Methods: Diclofenac sodium liquid crystal precursor injections were prepared and characterized, followed by in vitro release, pharmacodynamic, and pharmacokinetic studies.
Results: The optimal formulations were prepared with a ratio of Phytantriol/ethanol/water as 76:19:5 for cubic LC precursors, and a ratio of Phytantriol/ethanol/water/Vitamine-E acetate as 72:18:5:5 for hexagonal, both loading various drug dosages (2.
Solar-driven CO conversion to multicarbon (C) products has emerged as a key challenge, yet this calls for a systematic investigation on the overall reaction process and mechanism at an atomic level based on the rational design of highly selective photocatalysts. Herein, we report the synthesis of compact BiS/CdS heterostructures via facile cation exchange, by which a unique pathway of CO-to-CH photoconversion is achieved. Specifically, the BCS-30 shows an optimal CH production rate of 3.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a particularly aggressive subtype known for its extremely high drug resistance, progression, poor prognosis, and lack of clear therapeutic targets. Researchers are aiming to advance TNBC treatment worldwide. In the past 2-3 years, more positive results have emerged in the clinical research on TNBC treatment.

The angiopoietin-Tie2 binding and related signal transduction pathways are crucial for vascular angiogenesis, blood vessel integrity and maturation. In this study, we preformed a virtual screening of small molecules targeting to Tie2. The binding site was selected at the extracellular ligand binding region of Tie2, rather than its conventional endocellular ATP binding region.

A specific, sensitive and widely applicable high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV) method for the determination of moxifloxacin in human plasma was developed and validated in this study. The method involved a single step of liquid-liquid extraction with dichloromethane and the extraction yields more than 80% were achieved. The separation was performed on a common Kromasil C(8) column with an isocratic mobile phase.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIt has long been held as scientific fact that soon after birth, cardiomyocytes cease dividing, thus explaining the limited restoration of cardiac function after a heart attack. Recent demonstrations of cardiac myocyte differentiation observed in vitro or after in vivo transplantation of adult stem cells from blood, fat, skeletal muscle, or heart have challenged this view. Analysis of these studies has been complicated by the large disparity in the magnitude of effects seen by different groups and obscured by the recently appreciated process of in vivo stem-cell fusion.
